Default An insight to why ricers try to race LS1's

I was reading this post and thought it was pretty funny. At least he and the others on the thread were honest. Now you can't take one persons experience as an example for the entire population, but it may give some insight on how the ricers mind works. My question though, is why would he want to even test his car in the first place?

http://www.houston-imports.com/forum...ad.php?t=68066

If it was an Enzo would he still have raced "just to see what it has"?

Mods: you can move it if you want but I figured since the thread is about an SS killing an Accord that it would fit here.

hey NVDZ28, I was just curious, in your sig, does 3:73 mean the rear gears? if so I thought it was 3.73:1, if I'm wrong them I'm just being a complete idiot. I was just wondering.

Most of us simply write; 2.73, 3.42, 3.73, 4.10, etc....
I have 4.10's in the rear for example.

If I see an Enzo, you know I'm gonna try it. At the very least to hear that engine wail.

Yeah that's what I figured, I guess it must be a typo because because he put 3:73 instead of 3.73.

yep they will all know their place one day.

and yes we all understand the point of the gear ratios and how they are written. My bronco had 3.55's stock, but i moved to 4.56's front and back of course!

Yeah, they do that just to "see what happens" then they try to do a fly-by on ya to keep some of their dignity, and get themselves in trouble...oh well.

I can see their point, sort of.
I will run an 03 cobra knowing full well I will lose, i sure as hell won't look away or ignore them if they want to go. That pretty much goes for anything, atleast i can hear the motor as the blow past me. I do enjoy showing dominance over most of the rice garbage in my area atleast once so they show respect(usually).

Any insight into why the person called "V8 Assassin" (from the link that TurboLaser posted) calls himself by that handle? He came right out and said " I knew it was going to be a kill story " "I spat up coffee when I read...by 38 car lengths "

Just what V8's is this joker assassinating? 304cube Buicks? 4.3L Chevys? 255cuin. Fords? The worst excuses for v8's ever.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing as well... Of course, TurboLaser, you had as your title... "mmm... V8's are tasty" Whats that about? I thought you ran like mid 8's in the 1/8... Thats not gonna beat to many V8's... Im just curious though... not trying to put you down or nothing... cuz your a cool guy and all.

I don't know about that. The ones that posted seem to but I've ran plenty of ricers that live for the lame excuses. The best is when an awd car blames their loss on traction. Then they keep talking crap even after the loss because "they would've won if".

I'm curious as to what V8 assassin drives? Because I've heard that screenname before.

My guess would be an "upscale" ricer... like an RSX or something... cuz they are just so freaking fast and all Hmm... curious, do the RSX and the new Celica GT share the same chassis and stuff? cuz they look an awful lot alike.

Yeah I run mid 8's and proud of it. Man when I went to the Car Club Bash here I don't know how many cars in my club were running mid 9's, and that includes some V8's (a certain LT1 powered 240sx comes to mind), so I figure i can hold my own.

Ricer excuse time: You also have to remember that 8's is what I run on the street. I only had 15psi (which is low for the track) and pump gas. When I'm on pump gas I lose big timing. I drop from 22deg. to 6deg timing because I have so much knock. I'm running super lean.

The little title is just a joke, it goes well with the avatar. I have lots of respect for V8's and I know that 90% of modded LS1 will probably whoop my ***. But I think I've at least earned the title to say that I've beat a few V8's. Do V8 guys get offended when they see stuff like that? Cuz I wouldn't get offended if someone had a name that said "RiceEater." Lots of DSM guys use V8 in their name. But of course some DSMers get out of control and their primary concern is to beat V8's, which I think is retarded. V8's are not the only quick cars on the planet. They fail to realize there are Supras, RX7's, 300ZX's, 3kKGT's, and others that can just as easily whoop their ***.

But like I said, the title is more of a joke, I'm a light hearted person.

BTW, V8 Assassin is an AWD DSM. Also a rice (read: untasteful import) hater like me.

You need to make a pass on higher boost with race gas. Because I wanna know what it runs lol. DSMs are pretty bad azz little cars. I can honestly say though I'm not too fond of the way 3000GT vr4s perform. Supras and RX7s run real nice though. The RSX looks a little better than the Celica, not much though.
