Bolt on C5 A4 vs. Red SRT4

I defintely know all the ins and outs of how to make big power out of a 302 or a 351. I just really like making the little 4.6L modular "fast" for what it is. What I would like...
96-98 Cobra with a Mach 1 motor to start out with. Then the Mach 1 transmission (3650). See how fast I can make it "stock", then bolt ons, then cams, etc etc. Finally end up with a blower, **** ton of boost and nitrous, and a stalled automatic.
302/351 are just played out. Meh... The wife's Mach has me going through another modular phase. Hell I'll switch to something else by summer. :bangheadagainstwall:

you know b heads can make power too. you dont need c heads.
and as a matter of fact B heads are better for big boost. and high rpms. i shift my turbo at 6900 with stock cams at 10psi. motor loves it.

plus the block can handle 1k rwhp without being touched. C heads have cooling issues that drop valves. especially 99-01. 04-05 aviator/late 04 mach1/ late 04 termi and "blue" corrected heads are ok for that.
im telling you. go to 'the corral' DOHC forum and learn why im saying that. i would have switched to c heads a long time ago if they were better for FI.
get your 98 cobra. buy some eagle h-beams, 9.4:1 2618 alloy pistons, get it balanced, and turbo charge it, or centri it. even with stock TTY bolts in the whole rebuild, it can handle ~800-900 crank hp without and head/main cap walking. arp2000 studs throughout eliminate ANY kind of weakness to around 1200rwhp.

'everybody' doesnt know what they are doing. you absolutely will NOT sonic choke the intake ports on B heads, even untouched, unless you rev to 10k. and a quick pocket port relieves that. 2300hp with a pocket port, intake valves, and boost.

i didnt think it was your first rodeo. but it is your first rodeo with B heads. (modding).
if you are just bolting on, a mach engine will do just fine. im not really happy with bolt-on performance... in most cars.
all motor power is tough to compete in an early modular.

picking through the misinformation is difficult. all motor b heads with a short runner, cams, and bolt ons makes 380rwhp at 7k. stroking it to 5 liters = 400rwhp. b heads make very little torque though. no matter what is done.
where they shine is from a dig. 4.88 gears is a b headed motors best friend.
and when it comes to forced induction power, the b head 4v is the undisputed king of hp. 2300hp from john's 281. he uses mildly ported b heads. they dont need much work to make 2300hp at 10,000 rpms. his heads are pocket ported on the intake side with attention to the primary port. frpp stock sized stainless intake valves. stock exhaust valves. he does not remove the guide bosses on the exhaust, but simply "B"'s the exhaust ports, removing material from the divider and raising the foof. leaves the port floor alone besides smoothing it. thats all it takes for 2300hp...kinda.

I look forward to you getting video of a race. I'd say get equal mods, but we all know that isn't fair. In the end, your car is still uglier than sin, win or lose.
