To bad that will never happen.
I remember reading about a guy who was making a movie kind of like that. I don't remember what it was called and I don't think it was close to being finished yet, but if I find the info again I'll post it up.

Shameless plug for the local guys:

UMass show & BBQ April 30. 500 Cars last year, looking to double it this year.

They also have a dyno on site if anyone wants to see what they can do (not AWD so i wont be a part of that).

Lots of food, competitions, etc.

Yea I wasn't feeling the progress I was making OR the consistant threat of lowlifes stealing my car lol. S2000 is muuuuch harder to steal and more expensive to mod so less ppl will want to steal cuz they don't have the car to swap parts to lol. Also, it has forged pistons stock so it takes a bolton turbo kit very well (which will be happening)

I think I am going to the show - granted i'll be slow at the time of it, but why not!

Aint no way a S2000 will pull on a Vdub on that big of a shot, i call on that one. I say we this fool and his mobile. I bet a 11 5.0 would pull on that Vdub though .

Good "kill story".

They had 500 cars with very little advertising last year. This year they're advertising a lot and trying to double it. My friend (the OP of the thread i linked to) helps run the club so i'm helping him where i can.

They do a BBQ and pig roast and put a lot of time into the event.

It's only about an hour drive from Hartford. I'll be making the 2.5 hour drive up, hopefully i'll be able to meet a few LS1tech members.

Unless something else breaks, I should be good to go for both of these. I'm definitely looking forward to doing alot of cruising and hitting up alot of events this year!

Beans, if my Z28 breaks then you'll have to find me some runs for the G8

Since this is the BS thread here is another example of stupid Honda owners... http://www.clubintegra.com/board/showthread.php?t=62113

N/A means you want to build your motor
Boost means turbo

Then he tried to attack me but I stopped caring after a bit.

Not a problem.

I've got a few friends at Amherst who would be willing to run and a decent match for the G8.

Why is a guy from GA worried about boost on high compression? He probably has a dozen E85 stations nearby.

I wish i had it available.

I'm trying to figure out if I want to high boost on E85. I'm trying my best to understand the restriction/limits of the LS motor but there aren't many smart Honda owners.

The GSR motor and the LS motor are nearly the same shortblock wise yet the GSRs seem to last longer and limited to 350whp where as the LS motor I'm told is limited to 300whp. My theory is that the LS head sucks, everyone knows that. So more boost = same whp. Yes it has lower compression but I'm wondering if the added heat from more boost is causing detonation or what. The place I got the turbo from said they have a LS motor that makes 330whp ON RACE GAS. I asked why race gas for only 330whp and he said what I said, the head sucks. So I don't know

My friend is out running in bumbfucknowhere with his car vs some cobra and something else. I'll be posting those vids later if he doesn't. Hopefully I have a few to add as well, might be going for a small cruise after the potential buyer comes to look at my car.

A friend of mine owns a subaru and honda shop. He owns a few boosted hondas and has been building them for a decade.

I'll send him a text if you have any specific questions.

What are the details of the setup?

I would love to rock a turbo s2000 as a weekend cruiser (or even DD). I bet that thing is gonna be scary when it all gets done!

Ask him if he thinks since the LS motor has a restrictive head that, that limits the power to 300whp because of heat being built up in the motor and if the block/sleaves are actually limited to 300whp or if more power can be safe with a higher octane gas.

Nothing wrong with the head. My head is stock with a cam and springs/retainers making 500 on pump. My integra was running 17-18psi makin 280whp with a baby turbo on pump and I daily drove that for 2 years. Compression test last march before I deturboed it was 180-190-190-180 which is awesome for the year/mileage. Both self tuned

GSR's will make the same power with less boost essentially. IF your trying to make big numbers and you want a better powerband then thats the way to go.

So explain why GSRs usually can make more power before breaking on stock motor. Seems 300 is limit on ls and 350 on gsr

^ I believe he pretty much answered that.

I don't know a lot about Hondas, but cylinder pressure can play a big role in a motor's limits.

Meaning you'll have to mod the G8

And tell your Z28 to stop breaking, damn it!
