Gotcha, well I don't see how you can spend all that time on weight reduction but you can't spend a hour dropping a fuel tank and installing a 255 so you could of really embarrassed those other cars with a 125 or 150 shot of dope. But to each there own, never the less car still moves out and gets the job done.

If it's just a poorly setup combo or just mild boost this could easily be the answer. It probably weighed nearing 4000lbs, and the Camaro weighs MUCH less. It usually takes at least 100rwhp, if not more for a car to run with Brad's.
That's funny, because all I saw was a Chevelle. I didn't see a BBC or a Procharger, and it most certainly didn't sound like an F1 was on there, much less run like one.

I don't care what turbo cars it beat, or how much extra power you think someone needs to run with that car. Even at 3800+lbs a mild 540 should go bottom 10s, which is enough to go door to door with that Camaro like the video showed.

Forget about the low boost excuse. Even a mild pump gas naturally aspirated 540 at 3800+ should go 130.

new pump is in the works, the a/f was always good on the dyno, so I just let it slide, my fault, it caught up to me.

The owner said that it is a 540ci BBC with an F1...so unless he decided to lie, that's what I'll stick with.

Lol why is Marc still talking about that damn car? Who cares what it has, its a old *** dude who thinks its still 1974 and thinks its cool as hell to hide his super secrect 540ci with a F1 mods and what it puts down. And the fact that he was neck and neck with a gutted F-Body with bolt on's and a 75 shot of dope is sad if he really has all that money and mods in that car and it only runs that good. You can bet your sweet *** if that was me racing him I would put that video up on YouTube and talk **** on him on tech. The race was almost dead even both cars are sick its just one has a lot less money in it and it was right there with him. The whole woulda, coulda, shoulda **** is usless to say, you saw the race and the out come. Its street racing "Run Wat Ya Brung"!

Because that's what this thread is about, dumbass!

I say put a fuel pump in the Camaro, up it to a 150 and go after some "weak" Pro Mods. I think it has a chance...

You have fun with your pro mods as I can see they run real hard and all.

Wow that Chevelle is slow as hell..
If you get a chance check out Bob West '72 chevelle with a NA pump gas 496 in it. Runs 9.9s all day 3800lb car. NA 540s run 9.4s built correctly and with a f1 8s are very possible.
As said before there are A LOT of poorly built BBC out there. This is a prime example. I would bet the Guy threw a off the shelf engine together put a supercharger on it and thinks its unbeatable. Perhaps he was Only running his street setup to set up another race later on in which it will be on kill. By the sound of the engine I think its very mildly built or tuned down for the street. Its also possible he has a high rearend gear and improper convertor hurting the setup even more.
The camaro is rolling out for sure and the weight helps a lot. Keep on slaying those mustangs I love it!

are you guys all 12 year old or something? both cars are badass period. i dont know about anyone else but i rather own a vintage car like a chevelle then any F body including my own. im sure the guy doesnt give a **** if a 2000 z28 almost beat his car in a highway roll race lol...

another note, sounds like that converter is damn loose in the velle or he just rolled in 3rd the whole time

A 540cid BBC with a F1 should eat that car for brunch. The Chevelle should run that 10.30 in reverse with that setup.

Brad (silverz28camaro) told me last night that the owner of the Chevelle just told him that his car made 1000+rwhp...so this thing probably did have something wrong with it in some way.

I don't even know what to say...besides that i question the credibility of the Chevelle owner.

What could have been that wrong with it? Even with a dead hole a 1000rwhp chevelle should lay waste to most things.

I'm surprised he even told since he's supposedly super sneaky about his car. He told the Cobra owner the day of the race to put her phone away so she couldn't take any pictures when he popped the hood...but now he's giving out hp numbers??

Brad: "That guy in the chevelle thinks i have a 440 ls, he said the chevelle has 1020 rwhp"

Smells like horse **** to me.

1000rwhp through a stalled auto is high 8s low 9s at 150+

Who won't let a pic be taken but gives out a tell-all number? I call BS on this chevelle owner.
