Yeah that combination would be good for about 50-60 hp over stock. Going with upper pulley a CAI and a dyno tune gave me an extra 130 hp. And I'm sure it cost a lot less than Cams, Headers, Exhaust. And the CAI, AND takes about a hour to install. I can tell you from personal experience just putting on the headers takes a while much less putting cams in. Just makes no sense doing what he did.

Good kill, I always love lining up with a random car that I run into while cruising.

As for the cam thing, I'm not sure about the GT500 guys, but I believe alot of the 3 valve guys go with cams for the sound. That would make sense if this guy also did full exhaust, but no pulley.

That is the amzing part to me. Put in a pulley and CAI, sit in a car and put in a tune. Minimal amount of work for unbelievable gains. Great stuff!

Yea, I am with ya on the Headers...What a PITA. Moving the motor around and trying to get to the bolts on the rear passenger side. Not fun!!
Won't try that again!

Over on SVT cam upgrade isn't that common and most go for Ford GT cams when they do. Most usually go for blower up grade before cams. Cams upgrade just aren't that cost effective.

I had to remove and reinstall part of the steering column to put mine in. Huge PITA

It's definitely not the order in which I would mod my car if I had a GT500, but I'm sure the guy rationalizes it somehow. Either that or he's clueless and some shop is laughing all the way to the bank.

I've been here every now and then.. I just don't post here as much as I use to but still come in and read all the BS sometimes.. I am working on the car again and finally the new motor is about to go in. I have all the parts in except for the ARP studs for the mains I need for the machine work.

Yeah, I find it hard to drag myself away from the BS

What's the new motor setup going to be, or is it

LS2 based 402ci 12.3-1 DCR with my worked over set of trickflow 215cnc heads large EPS custom cam 1 7/8 AR headers 60lb injectors with the same old ported 90mm fast I already have. I since put full suspension BMR and Strange with a PTC built th350 tranny with about a 5000rpm stall. Should make for a fun ride.. Hopefully a low 10 second car on the motor and into the 9's on the spray..

I think you may have raced a GT500 owner who had no clue what was under the hood.

Either way, good kill.

Half way through first thing that came to mind was "sounds like high 9's on motor". You need more intake though I think and more throttle body.

That's a lot of stall.

What type of redline will a motor like this see??

I would imagine very close to 7000.

As long as the port job is up to par It will flow as good as a stock 102. It should make a little more hp and little less tq than a 102, which won't be a problem for a stroker. The gains would be so small it wouldn't be worth the coin changing intake imo.
