Default Bye Bye Viper!

Cruising in my CTSV I come up on a Viper coupe. Harassed him till we got some open road then from 60 to 130 I just slowly walked away from him in my 4 door Cadillac. This car makes me laugh out loud! Something this big and heavy has no right to be this fast.

Well lets see: my 450'ish rwhp GTO slowly walks away from 500hp early to mid 2000's Vipers. Which means his CTSv should be a damned good run for a newer viper.

I'm assuming it's an LSA V (V2)? Good kill, V's are the PERFECT sleeper.

nice kill. but looking at your sig "CTSV
534 RWHP/557 RWTQ SAE " im guessing your V is modded and the viper was stock?

Pulley, tune and a K&N filter in a cut down air cleaner. It's a sleeper.

Yep, 1.9 liter Eaton stock.

Mr370z: I don't know which, I believe it's an older one. Still, 4 door, 4400 pounds, 376 cid V8 > 2 door V10 sports car.

I'd be impressed if you lost to one actually. I don't know a single stock Viper that would dyno as high as yours would (excluding the 2008+, which it sounds like you didn't race).

I'm assuming you went from a roll making your "4400" lbs sedan's weight disadvantage less obvious. Good kill, nonetheless.

I'm too lazy, so someone should just post pics of various year Vipers so the OP can give us an idea of which he beat...not that it matters since he'd be a test for even the 600hp Vipers.

92-93 Viper RT/10:

94-95 Viper RT/10:

96-97 Viper GTS:

98-02 Viper GTS (rt/10 were just convertibles)(approx):

03-06 Viper (hardtop in 06, all rest years convert.):

2008-2010 Viper (pretty much like the 03-06 except minor visual differences most notable the altered vented hood):

From the pics of the nose (I didn't get a good look at the tail) I'd say it was 03 to 06, because of the look of the scoop, and as it was a hardtop, then it musta been an 06.

In any case I'll bet he was surprised with the results.

I'm not really surprised, you make more power than he does and from a roll your weight doesn't play that big of a role. It was a good kill nonetheless but come on.. your CTS-V's got a modified, supercharged 6.2L v8 vs the Viper's n/a 8.3L v10. If anything I'd be surprised if you lost (I think I've said this before). You should do some more Viper hunting
