Honestly all b.s'ing aside...it was probably a drivers race and the better driver won.

Congrats on your kill OP.

Good job OP. Let's be realistic guys every car is different some run good some run like crap. When i had my 94z with just a cai and muffler stock pipe all the way back. I beat some 01 cobras with exhaust and intake and had some that just had axle back exhaust beat me. Sometimes its a drivers race sometimes it just depends if the car is a runner or a slug. had the same thing happen gt's,z28,and trans am's.

Raced a '01 Cobra and a '99 Cobra with my brothers catback only 3.23 geared '01 Firebird M6: walked out car lengths with no problem on them. At the track, my brother did the same- 13.2's to there 13.5-13.9's. There was a Cobra club there and must have been 6 of them there (back in '02).

I don't think people are implying pre 03 cobras were slow Just that the edge would go to the ls1 in most cases, stock for stock. Like already stated , once the modding begins it's all ls1. Of course an ls1 CAN lose to an '01 cobra, just not the majority of the time imo.

Yeah I see what you guys are saying and I agree... Anything can happen on the street for sure and it seems a lot of guys dont know how to drive these cobra's to their full potential by shifting early and they really need steep gears to make a huge difference as well.

Oh and sticks, I ran a 12.8 and 1.8 60' at the track with a tire, 4.10's, o/r-x, and k/n filter. Like I said earlier some just dont know how to get the full potential out of the car sometimes, you win some and you lose some, thats racing

Wow! Nice pic up above, sure makes that snake look better (it needs a few more curves to compete with her though me thinks ) I actually really like that GT500 though, if anyone even noticed it

Yes I am. Mods are basically a stock Eaton and some exhaust.

Well, that same day a guy came out with a brand new SS convertible that still had the paper plates and brought his salesman who sold it too him the day before and ran two 12.9's @ 108 before leaving. That makes it .6-.8 seconds quicker then the Cobra's that were in attendance--- and 5-8mph faster.
