I just observe races (see sig) but saw a stock wrx take off against a newer body mustang gt. Obviously the wrx got the holeshot, but I couldn't see the end. (again, see sig.) I think the wrx runs mid 14s stock, and gts are like 14 flat, right? Are these two cars comparable on the street or strip? Who would win? I just dindn't think this comparo has been brought up yet.

Hmm... shoulda been real close... Was it an STi? If it was, then I would say the Sti is a little bit faster, as long as the driver is competant.

I would say stock vs. stock it would probably be a driver's race as long as the WRX lauched at like 5k rpm. Other than that I think that the GT would probably take it from a roll or top end, becuase the WRX's lack of HP and the all-wheel drive drivetrain loss.

It was the base wrx. 227 hp. No Sti.

I thought even base WRXs were faster than Mustang GTs... maybe I'm thinking pre-99 GTs...

ehh ive raced plenty of wrx's ...they rip you out of the hole but after 1st gear they aint **** ....smoked plenty in my gt ...

if it was an sti it would have been murder city.

the mustang should have pulled it, regular wrxs top out early.
