i knew a guy with a 3rd gen. that never sounded like it was that heavily modded, but he ran high 12's...i was impressed.

if it wasn't for my flowmaster my car wouldn't seem like it was modded ....i hate it sometimes..evryone wants to race.....i remember racing at the track for test and tune and this guy with a heavily modded mustang 5.0 with 5 speed wanted to race.....so i raced him........we raced 20 times......evry time i pulled him 5 car links out the hole....and out run him half track.....1/8 mile.....my 60 ft was 1.5 or better with a t5....now my car has an A4 w/3500 stall and more mods than before and i still have less than 3 grand in it and run as fast as i do

 

But more to the point, y'all, haven't you ever been driving a turd of some kind and pulled up next to a Beemer or Porsche or some other "fast" car, and then jumped off the line just to have fun watching as his bruised yuppie ego races to catch up with you? Those kids were doing just that - trying to provoke you just for fun.
