What is up with that GT though? Even a decent size turbo with supporting mods should run really strong. Based on what I saw, it looks as though a 4-banger Honda Civic running 24+ lbs of boost would have given you a better run than that GT.
I think that GT needs to take a look at that bad setup or get a tune to compliment the boost and mods.

After the first race I was skeptical to how bad the mustang lost...but the second one seemed much closer. Having owned a boosted S197 I know how they run, and it wouldn't be out of the ordinary for a bolt on c5z to pull one, even if the stang was making close to 500whp. If he had shifted a little quicker it looked as though it would be a real close race. Sweet cars and good kill!

It's tough to get a brick to fly. Mustangs are probably the least aerodynamic american sports car on the road and the driver def seemed like he did way better on that second run. He needs to take some shifting lessons from Dom Toretto himself though...
