Production started in September 1999 with 1022 S2Ks that month.

Based on the assumption that each model year ends in August the following year, this is what I came up with for production per year:

2000 model (Sept 1999 - Aug 2000): 4865
2001 model (Sept 2000 - Aug 2001): 7498
2002 model (Sept 2001 - Aug 2002): 7207

FACT! hehe

As much as it is for any NORMAL car. $3k-$10k, depending on what you do. Every car/setup is different, which is why you were able to hang with an S2000 that (on paper) should have handed you your ***.

I dont think the car was ever full 700whp in these races. Cars being built as a drag strip only car now IIRC

So for 10-15K you can buy a nice example and for only another 5K you can have 450-500 rwhp?

Pretty good deal.

Funny you say that, it actually is!

Back in high school my buddy had an AP1 he would watch this video over and over, wanting his car to be the same. The car in the vid is pretty bad ***.

They can be pretty quick if done right, and I actually like how they look. I think the AP2's are definitely an improvement (Visually) over the AP1's.

You keep saying that, and I have no idea wtf you are talking about. How is this a "HUGE top?"

I don't think that 700whp is as fast as they make it out to be. I actually don't think it's anywhere near as fast as it looks in that vid.

Some guys local to me are building the baddest S2K i've ever seen. I'd link you guys to the build thread but it's on a private forum.

They are calling it a budget build. They said they didn't want anything crazy, just your ordinary 8 second car.

Yup, that's a 4G63 in the engine bay.

Hell at this point it only just resembles a S2K.
