I thought there was some mention of a stock SS running quicker than 12.5... Maybe I'm confused here, but I really thought I'd read 12.39 or something. Sadly, most just won't do it, but I do think most LS3's can see 12's in good conditions with a decent driver. The older guys may wanna be nice to their cars, but those are usually the guys who have a little coin on standby and can actually afford the car too, so some may drive it like they stole it. 
In the 80's, I could hardly afford to race, let alone break anything... Later, I just didn't care beyond "don't crash" and was a better driver. My cars were definitely driven harder as I got older and had more to spend along with scads more wheel time.

does this 5th gen SS happens to be black with a macho looking white guy as the driver? and while you tried to race from a stop some guy was making a right turn or something like that. And was it your GF sitting next to you?
If so, I know the guy personally. He's my buddy and yes his 5th gen is no slouch. I am surprised that you have LTs in your car, as he only mentioned he raced a 4th gen with light mods. We gotta get together and talk more. I'll let him know of this thread.

YEs sir I do ..ok guys so me and adam are going to mexico to run em again...2 dig runs and two roll runs...we will record them for our tech friends ..i put some fresh oil and opened my cut out and took my baller box out of the trunk....can we have some guess es on the out come of the runs...also anyone else wanna join in we can meet some where in whittier or santa fe springs cmon it will be fun guys

All races where extremely close but i won. I believe its a bit of a drivers race, but the weight factor plays a big deal.

My lid, cutout, throttle body Firehawk M6 just beat my friends 08 Ls3 A6 vette from a 50 to 130ish roll..
And i've pulled 2 modded M6 2010 SS camaro's from both a 30 and a 50 roll with the three honks and go.
All races where extremely close but i won. I believe its a bit of a drivers race, but the weight factor plays a big deal.
So does getting the hit.

I've raced 2 ls3 camaro's first one i won first race second race i was winning till about 120 then he pulled on me. Second one my tranny was started to slip 3rd to 4th but he still had a nose on me when i slipped. they run pretty good on the street it seems like but strip they suck IMO.
