Default 420 all wheel hp sti Vs. sts turbo t/a

just recently finished my Trans am and got it all tuned and dynoed ended up putting down 450 hp at 9si without methanol(which i now got working) anywho my boss at work has this 420hp all wheel drive wrx sti well he has been wanting to run me since i got my car done and from what he has told me he has won some good races so he had me follow him onto the highway after work the other day we slowed down to a 40 roll and he honked it off....well me being decently new to street racing and a little over anxious i jumped the horn and took off....he jsut shook his head as i slowed down and indicated me to honk off this time well we sat dead even at 40 mph my car being an auto i brake boosted....honked off the race and we took off dead even till about 70 mph until i shifted and i was gone i ended up pulling 3-4 cars on him from 40-110 i was very happy winning my first race in the new trans am he gave me a thumbs up and told me he was impressed with my build just hope he wont fire me now lol

With that much power and an auto it's possible as long as you can come out hard.

I don't know alot about turbos, but I do know that getting rid of exhaust restrictions helps out big time. How soon you think before you get it to the track?

What turbo are you running? I was running a T67 rear mounted. I was using Long tubes, catless Y pipe and 3" Intermediate pipe - All completely heatwrapped and sylicone sprayed. I also had meth and was at 560whp/595rwtq at 10 or 11 psi if I remember correctly (its been a while since it last ran lol).

Great win - gotta love it!! I bet you get a bunch of ppl looking when you are leaving a stop sign/light from the turbo whistling lol

Are you running stock heads/cam? or what else do you have done?

Usually post turbo is where backpressure is an issue. With rear mounts they are plagued with lag and spool up as the exhaust gasses have already expanded as the go down the exhaust to the turbo. When they hit the turbo they have lost some velocity. Wrapping preturbo should keep some of that heat in the pipes which would help keep the gasses flowing to the back.

I always hear that the big issue with those setups is the spool time/lag. I wonder if a little shot of nitrous would take care of that

I just got a message the other day from another local guy on here (Mach Boy) saying that MAR is officially opening now, but it will be out between exits 170 & 175 on hwy 70, which is Hermann I'm pretty sure. Wonder how long it'll take that to get built.

The rumors with Gateway are true this time, the same people that bought and reopended Memphis are negotiating a deal to buy Gateway. The only problem with Waitway is the tax situation. Hopefully they can get that figured out and they said running by July!....don't hold your breath though. It's a shame, I heard we had some of the highest turn outs for test n tune.

Curse of the LSX Shootout?? (Memphis and Gateway both hosted it...now closed)

How is the overlap with that cam? I know theres a way to tell you mathmatically but can't remember. Just hope it's not much or else you are losing boost at compression, thus making you lose power.

I am betting you aren't running into much lag but it kills your top end.

What dyno was it on btw?

[(Intake + exhaust)/4]-LSA = overlap
[(232+234)/4]-115
116.5-115 = 1.5*
