Holy crap those new 5.0's are fast!!!

All the prior iterations of Ford's Mod motor were miserable turds at best. Complicated, unreliable, difficult to build, oor aftermarket support until the early '00s (the motor came out in 1991 if I remember). Ford finally did it correctly but it took 20 years to get here...

He still has it as of now, but has a guy in his class who wants to trade a upperscale '10 F150 4x4 with 6k miles for it. They would swap payments (the guy owes $29k).
The guy wanted a mustang exactly like my brother's and they didn't have one at the time but he needed something fast so he bought the truck. Still has the 3yr/36k warranty with it.
He knows the Mustang has a bad trans but can get a deal on labor to fix it. To sell/trade his truck and buy a new Mustang now, he would be losing minimum of around $4-6k price difference and basically lose all the $$$ he put towards payments so far.
So far it seems to be the best option unless something else comes up soon. He needs a working vehicle, not a POS.

It's truly sad that a great motor in a great platform has to be backed but such garbage, and that goes for the warranty too (if this is true that it will not be warrantied).
I'm not proclaiming that GM is free from putting some garbage parts in their cars, so please don't lump me into fanboy status. Just saying that this is very disappointing!

Met up with a buddy of mine last night for a peak at his black on black 5.0. 6500 mies on the odometer. Full exhaust, intake, and tuned auto. The car has 4.10 gears also. After hanging for a while he wanted to do some quick hwy runs to see how he faired against the vette.
He faired pretty damn good. Only had him by 1 maybe 1 1/2 by 120. I trap 117, I'm assuming he does also. I have to give ford props on this one. Once the blowers become more abundant, these things will be in the 125 range. Time to put some headers and a tune on the vette.

no reason your friends shouldnt be taking that dealership to court. at that low miles a horrible lawyer would eat them alive for not backing the warranty. unless yall did something to the car mod wise then yep he screwed himself.

And once again, the Stang is faster than the Camaro because of weight, just like the Fox body, no big deal, we all know the GEN 5 is a land boat, LOL.
The 2010 Camaro had a tail shaft issue or some this like that? Cannot remember, but at least GM warrantys the issue with no BS.

Exactly, till now, they had to supercharge any 4.6 to run worth a **** and give it a iron block with forged internals.

Exactly, you put a $35k+ investment in a company. A DEALERSHIP says they won't do something and you just roll over and say ok? Someone's not too bright...

Well Mr. GM nuthugger, what does it prove to make the excuse that the Mustang is only faster because weight? That GM makes the more powerful engine? It's GM's fault it's slower, either way. Wake up, what about the 03-04 Mach 1's? Or does it **** you off that a little 4.6 was pretty much a driver's race for the almightly LS1?

We are still trying to get someone higher up to talk. Don't know if you have used an attorney lately but they don't work for free. My brother is a college student and my parents can't afford it either.
Can't do the trade either, the guy owes $29k on his truck and the loan value is $24k so my brother would have to pay the difference and end up with a vehicle worth less than he paid for it. They can't just set it up to trade bank notes.
So it's back to fighting for now. Going to see if our uncle's attorney might be able to work something out.

My friend blew up his intake/exhaust/tune 2011 5.0 motor with only 6000 miles on it last fall. He was the first person in the country to blow his motor.
Ford found his youtube videos, facebook, and svtperformance username. They found out that he street raced the car, auto crossed it, and drag raced it. They pretty much voided his warranty until he started fighting it. After a long battle Ford decided to replace the entire long block for free but now he has no warranty at all.
Since then he has had problems with his pressure plate bolts, and he blew the stock differential.
