I agree, get some rubber if you even want a chance. As of right now on bald tires and being an A4 you are screwed going from a dig or a roll IMO. You got to get all the ponies you have to the ground. Go from a dig is your best bet if you can get your hand on some DR.

To say he doesn't have a chance without a tire is ridiculous. He's racing a civic, they aren't exactly known for low end power and dead hooking on the street. You should have him with ease, just don't blow your tires off on launch and your fine. But if your car is running that slow for 0-60 you might want to figure out why because thats terrible, my econobox subie can do that.

Seriously to all those saying it would be close lol if your car is running that terrible figure out why and fix it! No puny little Civic should stand any chance. Go out and destroy him!

I think some may be giving the Civic SI a little too much credit. A good friend of mine had an 07 SI. We ran it and my 06 Eclipse several times and it ended badly for him from various speeds/dead stops. He didn't have it long before he traded it in for a Solstice GXP. Anyway, my Eclipse should be a low 14 second car. I have no plans on rolling up to a racetrack in that thing to find out. It has CAI/catback/better tires so MAYBE a high 13 second car at best, but I doubt it. I have no illusions about trying to run LT1 F-bodys in that Eclipse.
Point is, if your car is running as it should, you should beat that car, badly, from a dead stop, even on crappy tires. That is unless the guy has modifications that he's not telling you about, which I suspect if he's that cocky with a Civic SI...

Sticky tire for a sure win. With bald tires and a messed up launch, it'll be harder. I'm sure your friend his a good driver, but it doesnt make you the best because you can powershift a slow car to make it less slow...but it makes you ahead of others for sometime, till you destroy your tranny before other plp not powershifting..

When did Civics become mid 14 second cars stock? Stock or close to stock LT1 guys definitely need to mod up, modded Civics are breathing down their neck, and V6 Mustangs are now faster than.
OP you should be fine. I'd just throw it in D, just in case you fucked up and forgot to shift or something and blew it.

I have yet to see one at Cedar Falls run better than a 15@93.8 or whatever it was the same night my bolt-on TA went 13.024@103.33 with a 2700DA. Just a tenth or two below 94 mph the Civic was. Maybe it is the humid summer Iowa air? Maybe not. There were surprisingly A LOT of newer Si's running at the strip that day. Almost more than the 2v Mustangs we never saw break 13's and some even struggle to break 14's (terrible drivers lol)

Maybe I shouldn't have said "he doesn't stand a chance", but what i was getting at is without a stall and gearing on his side he isn't as much of a threat from a roll. If he's going from a dig with no grip then that is bad too. I should have said "you don't have an advantage" as that is what I was really getting at. He could still squeak out a win but you could very well lose do to poor traction. If you can't get some DR try to go from a low roll and see what happens. Good luck to you

I'm not doubting the new Civic's capabilities. I'm just saying I've yet to see one get out of the 15's. The kid is a local and also isn't bad at driving either. Not bad for a cheap little 4 banger
