go forged. you'll never regret it,and most of the money spent on going forged will already be spent with swapping in a new/stock short block. I just went through this soul searching dilemma myself.

Yeah, I'm going with a forged motor and a T-trim. Not much bigger than what I have, but I will run the 6 rib and stock fuel system at 650rwhp until I want to upgrade to an 8 rib and fuel system in the fall. Then I might shoot for 750-800, but nothing more. Hard to drive a 6 speed vette on 275/40-17 drag radials with anything over 700rwhp. I think 750rwhp would be about as much as I could get away with on the track with those tires.

They are light weight and still get the job done. Mini tubbing the car is ridiculously expensive to run wider wheels. I might get away with the 315/35-17's, but I don't see them being much of a benefit. I go low 1.6's at 630rwhp with them, and vette guys are running low 1.5 to high 1.4 60fts at 500-700rwhp with them(6 speed). Auto's are solid 1.4 in the same power area.

11.2 @ 128mph iirc. It's the 7spd DCT (PDK) transmission that makes all the difference.

I think it would make a difference on the street, but you have to get real wide, like 345's. However, even on the street, I feel like the 275/40-17 MT Drag radials(1st generation), hook better than the wider 305/30-18 MT Drag raidals(2nd generation). I feel that extra 1inch of sidewall helps, even from a roll. I like to run my drag radials around 20psi on the street. I'm probably going to leave MT behind for the best Drag radial, the Hoosier. Not really a street capable tire like the MT is, but I've seen some awesome 60fts out of it.
