99 Formula vs 420hp Cobalt SS/TC
What's up? I'm Adam, and am currently stationed in sierra vista,AZ. I'm a newly signed up member, but I've been lurking the board for about 8 years or so. I know this isn't the introduction section, but I only browse a few select sections anyhow. So anyhow, this race took place about 6 months ago. My buddy who owns the cobalt, had just had it on the dyno and laid down 420/???. We had previously ran from a 40 roll, where he stayed beside me spinning 2nd and 3rd before hooking and leaving me standing still.
So after getting my *** busted, I thought I might have a better shot from a dig. Sadly enough the video is shitty because it was filmed on a MYtouch slide . But you can see the results even though its dark. Also, it was cold as ****, so the cobalt had no traction. I'm sure you'll hear it. he blew past me, once he caught traction.
My car: 1999 Formula
- 2001 ls1
-40k mile rebuilt motor. That is supposed to have, according to the previous owner Wiseco forged flat tops.
-Mcleod(sp?) Stage 2 clutch
-tick adjustable clutch master cylinder
- 3.73's ( forgot about this)
And that's about it, still has the stock paper filter. The runs were made at about 3400+ DA, in mexico, of coarse
*Disclaimer* - Video was taken from a camera phone at 1am. So of coarse the quality is not going to be great.

Que?
What's not to understand? Am I missing something?
By the way, since I'm relatively retarded when it comes to posting up these videos, and since I'm typing from a phone, if someone wants to tell me how to properly post the video, ill go back and fix it.

Well ****.
Fixed it. The guy i bought that car from, had bought it as a roller, due to the original motor being hydro-locked. At the same time his buddy, who owned a 2001 ws6, was doing a LS2 build, and no longer needed his motor. So according to the previous owner, they rebuilt it because it had been run hard, and needed to be freshend up. So they supposedly rebuilt it with Wiseco Flat tops, blah blah blah... I've yet to pop the heads off, because I'm waiting to buy a set of AFR 205's and full exhaust. Since i already have the cam waiting to be put in, once i get the rest of my ****.

Eh, more or less. He's down for digs or rolls. The guy is a damn nice person, just kinda irks me a bit, because he loves to drive fast and reckless through the mountain roads here between Tucson and Sierra Vista. But i agree, too much power is useless if you cant put it down. He definately needs a new wheel and tire combo to even begin to plant what he's making to the pavement.

Gotcha man smh I've been duped . I figured he was a troll due to the name and join date. I tried to resist feeding him but alas I failed.
I feel you on that, (Can't win them all) so my pockets are going to have to hurt to beat some lol.

The way im figuring it, is this way. I need (want) a set of AFR 205's, hooker LT's, and a lot of suspension work lol. I already have a G5x3 cam sitting in my room in the barracks, along with a pieced together N20 kit. Now i just need the funds for the other goodies. so i've come to the conclusion, that I need to either find someone to pimp, or become a jiggalo....

Shooot we are already being pimped out......thanks Uncle Sam ...smh lol
I'd kill to be stationed in AZ or NV due to what I've heard. Man I'm definitely envious of you!
I currently have my 99 Z28 in FL with Lashway Motorsports going the cam only route.
Before the end of next year I'll be putting better heads on there and an S60 rear-end.
