A full bolt on 5.0 at a drag strip with bigs and skinnies will be a good run for a stock ZO6. It will really come down to if the ZO6 owner is one of the ones that can get it down to the lower 11s or maybe a high 10 as few have went in stock form. Or one the ones that don't drive as good and runs high 11s. But same for the 5.0.
On a roll race the ZO6 will walk away from him.

To say a exhaust 5.0 will walk a C6 Z06 is retarded.

Now put the same driver in both cars, and the Vette wins every time.

I Disagree, You did mention the driver which MAKES a WORLD of difference, but 90% of the cars I see at the track I work at can't get them down the darn track, MUSTANGS TOO. New Mustang 2011 with Cut out and Cold air barley got into the 8's BARLEY!!! Driver Mods for Everyone!!!

Stock down to the filter my Z went consistant 11.50's/60's at 125mph at Sacramento Raceway Park. There was another guy that was going 11.3xs in his stocker at the same track. The only bolt-on 5.0s I've seen getting close to those times have had big & littles, suspension mods + minor weight reduction and are usually trapping around 116. Still pretty impressive though.
It will come down to drivers in equal DA and track prep etc.
On a roll race yes the ZO6 will win. Over a 1/4 mile if it isn't ahead at the time it will walk the 5.0 before the 1/2 mile mark guaranteed.

I don't know guys, but with DRs on both I really can't see many Zs getting beat at the track by bolt on coyotes. It seems a little much to compare these two imo, since traction can be improved greatly on a Z with simple DRs. That would make the Z non-stock I suppose, but it's a strange comparison either way

That's movin' for sure Who would have guessed back in the day of ls1 c5s that the next gen would turn up some 10 sec dr only vettes. Then again, who would have guessed not so long ago that we'd have GT Mustangs running these times? I know some of you guys saw it coming, but the jump from '10 to '11 is staggering. I'll admit, I'm still amazed by the c6zs, and they are one of the few cars I still jizz in my pants over lol. Every time I see them I always feel like a kid again and can't help but want one It's like a wet dream to have such a raw vehicle, based on old school principles deliver so much refinement and excitement. Wow, ok I'll go back to my tallboy Budweiser now

Oh snaps! I'll have one for you man, or a few I'm finally starting to see some more 5.0s around here. I'm hoping my buddy picks one up like he plans to, it'd be cool. Last time we ran he had a '94 5.0 and I was sporting the '95 Lt1. So this time around may prove a little more interesting, and the ****** can bang those gears so I won't exactly be cursing my old 4l60e in this case
edit: surprised no one came in to post "this thread is full of fail" yet lol. I tend to post in surges, and it tends to be rambling more often than not Like your car btw.

I have seen plenty of bone stock ZO6's run 11.8-12.4..Driver issue yes sure. I have also seen a few stock ZO6's run 11.2-11.5. I also know least 4 bolt on 5.0s that run constant low 11s. 11.1-11.4. All at the same track with same and similar DA's. If both drivers can drive it will be a good race. I trap 16-117 before full exhaust and Boss and rest suspension. Ones running that i have seen trap 118-123.
So a full bolt-on, tuned 5.0 with weight reduction, suspension, slicks and skinnies can run within a couple tenths of a BONE-STOCK Z06 at the track? Wow, im not suprrised.
And 123mph traps in a full weight/bolt-on 5.0 is just
I can't speak for everyone else but me personally im not buying your BS!
