Default 92 fox vs 05 c6

So today me and a buddy got together for a few runs, his car is a 92 gt with a 331 stroker, gt 40 heads/cam gears and drag radials. My car is a bone stock 05 vette with street tires. I just got the car last week and def need more seat time.

First race was a 40 roll which was cut short due to a cop in the on coming lane, super lucky we didn't get busted!

Second race was a 20 roll and I missed third. Like I said I've had the car for a week and still figureing it all out.

not a bad outcome, hard to believe a stroked bottom end light *** fox can only run like that(not all but most do unfortunately)

If I wouldn't have missed third I would have walked on him pretty hard.

GT40 heads will make any stroker motor slow. We are in the 21st century...TIme to step up to AFR, Trick Flow, Edelbrock. With a 205cc head on that 331, that C6 wouldn't have been in the video.

Not all GT40 head combo's are slow. Guys have been 10's N/A in a 331/347 with GT-40's. Just thought id mention that.

He just got the car about two months ago the way it sits. My car is pretty weak from a 20 roll, from the 40 roll I immediately started pulling him. But it started raining just after our second race so we didn't get a chance for a clean run.

That is an ignorant statement. Gt 40 heads are wayyyyyyy too small for a 331 stroker, it looked like he was racing a stock bottom end 302 W GT 40'S with bolt ons. Don't mean it in a personal way just an incorrect statement. 331 with dart sr. would have walked that vette no prob.

Have to agree; GT40's are small for a 302 let alone a 331.

A 331 with some 205's and a good intake would run a lot better.

Get headers, cam and electric cutout plus that shot.
You will love that power!

Good runs.

Have to agree with some the heads are killing him. My friend just built a stroked 347 and with the GT40 heads he was making around 420whp. Switched to some trick flow heads and gained almost 35whp. It not breath was killing him. He was went 11.5's on stock suspension with the GT40 heads and 11.2s with the trick flow heads. With it getting sideways on every shift. He is currently upgrading his suspension to handle the power now. He has a identical set up to another friend who has gone 10.6-10.7s with a upgraded suspension. On top of the stroker he also will be spraying 200 shot. He has had the car about 2 months.

I would get a cutout too thier cheap and it will help you a lot when you go to spray.
