This post right here is why I constantly bang my head when talking to LSx guys: most camaro/gto guys act like supra guys: all about topend and no real thought paid to traction. I am constantly surprised when I destroy cars (never lost thru an intersection, even to big hp AWD cars). Then I race Fbody or stock suspension GTO guys and destroy them as they spin uselessly.

Good kill. Hooking is everything when doing a light to light run.

So damn true.

I have personally watched a guy drive the **** out of a new edge 2v on drag radials and still run 14.20s.

Keep dreaming. In reality all of those factors can affect the outcome of any race.

You might think he drove the **** out of it, but do you know where he was shifting? Or the DA?

He owns the drag strip and his been racing mustangs there all his life...DA that day was 1840ft, track altitude was 917ft.

The next week he got this but I wasn't there to see it:

"14.12 @ 96.xx with a 1.91 60'
Keep in mind this is a bone stock 131k mile '04 Mustang with 26x11.5x17 ET Streets. DA was 2400 feet.
I hope with some seat time with the new tires I can dip into the 13s. "

Point was just how annoying it is when people like Kevin claim up and down the 2v are solid 13sec cars all day long blah blah blah and in the real world plenty of people don't do that in truly stock cars. Just as bad as people claiming ls1 fbodies are solid 12sec cars bone stock because a dozen or so have done it.

The fact that the car only trapped 96mph in that DA should tell you something. Those cars routinely trapped 98-100mph if they were running well.

Yeah I'm also thinking your radials and gears helped a lot. The Mustang is much more modded than the Camaro obviously, I remember I lost to a Mustang one time by about a car or so. The first and last time I ever lost a Mustang...

Really? Want to put some money on that. Cause from looks of your video you better worry about civic Si's before mustangs.

DA can kill cars. Friends car went 11.1-11.3 in middle summer w/ +3500 DA then 10.6s in winter with -250- +200 in the winter months.

Gears, traction and driver mod are so crucial off the line. Sounds like you had em all. Good kill!!

Still get the LS1 though, lol.
