I do it all the time. On my ZX14. 
If he mentions it again, tell him you will race him from a dig only, and from 0-60mph ONLY. Odds are REALLY good that you will win that race - especially if you lay the pressure on him hard and get him over anxious about it since "everyone knows" that sport bikes are so blazingly fast 0-60. Unless he actually is a very experienced AND good rider my money would be on you winning because he either bogs it or most likely wheelies it and has to let up.

Damn this thread has really taken off in the past day or two, you guys are way behind. I've already smoked the tranny on the foot brake at the strip and have it out getting set on kill now

Yea honestly, if it doesn't have a cage in it, isn't a at least a C5 ZO6 vette, or a newer modded C6 or C6ZO6 I don't even waste the gas to show them that I can beat them. I just love hearing how street bike guys make excuses for their riding when even with ricky hayden on it, wouldn't have made it close. I'd be willing to say with ricky hayden on a 600 I'd still pull at least a car on him past 100 and possibly the same outcome with the 600 rider to 120-130. I've never raced an actual hardcore 'good' rider. I really would like to, to actually see and hear the difference in how they shift and handle the bike.

I'm no bike expert but there are 600 Katanas and Ninjas that stock ls1s can beat. My brother has a stock 600 Katana and I've beat him by a couple car lenghts. Of course thats not even close to what R6s and Gixxer 600s can do lol.
