A friend of ours finally got an F-body. He picked up a really nice and clean 01' WS6 completely bone stock. Just for fun he wants to race our friend who has a full bolt on Z28 - LT's, ORY, Borla cat back, SLP lid, LS6 intake, ported TB, UD pulley, SFC's, LCA's and re-location brackets, all free mods and a dyno tune. Both cars are M6's with stock 3:42's. Both running street tires.
First race from a dig, both get good starts, they stay pretty even until about 60-70mph where the Z28 pulls about 1 to 1 1/2 cars ahead. 2nd race the Z28 only pulls about a car length and they take it up to around 90mph.
They then hop on the highway and take off from a 50mph roll. Same results, the stock WS6 hangs with him fairly close and the modded Z28 manages to put 1 1/2 cars on him up to 110mph.
I was surprised the stock WS6 was able to keep up and stay as close as he did. Does that sound right for all the mods done to the Z28? I was expecting the Z28 to pull at least 4 or 5 cars on him. I don't know what the Z dyno'd at but he must be making at least 40hp or more than the WS6.

In those short of races 4-5 car lengths would be a MURDER. It would take a lot more than that to pull that much.
Seems about right to me really... Also, drivers play a HUUUUGE roll/everything in M6 cars.
1-2 car lengths is a very solid win. Anything more than that it starts to get unfair. 5+ and it isn't even a race.

Id have to agree with the above comments, yes there might be a 30-40rwhp difference but the race has to have length to see 4-5 cars. Race wasnt long enough to get more then the length he got. Driver also has alot to do with it as well, ive had my fair share of f ups and thought i did well and got my a** handed. I learned quickly, lol.
