I can believe that 100%. Most people never even try to launch there bike hard, some not even getting on it in first gear, only second and up.

CBR looks to be an 07 or up judging by the side fairings at the beginning of the video.

I would say you beat the rider, but either way a close run is a lot of fun!

Launching a bike isn't something every rider can do or is capable of. Locally, I'm one of only a handful of guys who can get a decent (read - not fantastic) launch from my bike. A skilled 600 rider will keep the rpms above 10 000 and begin to slip the clutch. From there bar the throttle and continue to engage the clutch so as not to bog the rpms to low. If done correctly, the bike will launch hard and keep the tire low. Incorrectly and 1 of 2 things happen - 1: the front end goes sky high. 2: the rpms drop too low (below 9000) and the bike struggles to get back up into the power.
