Default Fun in my Girlfriends Z28: z28 vs 11' CS/GT

Haven't posted a kill in a while since my WS6 is down for some fun mods. Anyway... My GF asks me to go put gas on her car while she gets ready to go out. I agree and take the Z for some food(gas). As I'm waiting for a pump I hear this loud roar of a V8 passing by and notice it's a 11' stang that I ran before in my WS6. I forget the gas and follow em quick. Luckly he cought a light but I couldn't get next to him since there were cars. At the next intersection he makes a right and so do I, I gave em thumbs up and he smerks and says what's up (with his head) I told him let's go. He drives slow till the next light, feeling ignored I just act like whatever and continue on the road. I'm in front of him at the red light and go a little hard to make the Z side ways like showing him it's no weeny. as I'm slowing down for another red (lots of reds and no fun ) I notice that the lane next to me is empty and he is coming. I say "yes" when he is approaching the light turns green and he gases it and does a ricer flyby. So lame!! I try to get up and go but to late. He has about 3 cars and can't catch up, but for sure he wasn't pulling away. Next light we both make a left and as soon as we do, I get next to him and when he sees me next to him he gases it again but this time I'm ready in gear. We take off at the same time and I slowly put a good solid half to 3/4 car by the end of 3rd. Damn Z held it's own against a nice sounding 5.0
After I got back I got in trouble... "were where you? Why did it take you so long?" Me: "there was a big line to put gas, geez!"

My girls car is a 2000 Z28 A4 with K&N

His: exhaust I'm sure. Last time I ran em it was bone stock.

So a stock Z28 kept up with and then beat a car with 100hp more....I will throw the out there.

Specially after several cammed and bolt on guys said they ran a few and some have lost and some them have won. Either way 90% giving props to the 5.0 and admit it will be a stock F body and 5th gen.

I call bs on your bs. Yes the stang should have won. Its not entirely out of the realm of possiblity. A stang is rated 412hp and in 02 the LS1 has been dyno proven time after time to be closer to a corvettes rating of 345. That don't add up to 100hp to me. Roughly 50-60 and I'm betting the stang was 200-300lbs heavier than the Z. The stang could've melted the tires been in the wrong gear or botched a shift. Who knows but again the stang on paper should have won but anything can happen on the street and I see it a definitely possible. Just my .02

Well if we going by what dyno proven several 5.0s have dynoed 390 bone stock. SO again that ups the mustang to 430/440 ish stock. SO again close to 100hp.

First run 5.0 jumps 3 cars and he can't catch him. But second one he is pulling away..HMM I don't think so.

Yes it is the street. Anything is possible. This like me posting I killed a ZO6 and every one being ya i see that. To easy.

09 would have had to steal more then a badge.Slightly different body. LOL..

But a 2010 on t he other had.

What funny is my boy told me there is some 2010's around our area that have did this. He took my car to a company carwash for his unit and they wasn't sure till it was a real 5.0 cause of it. Then he popped the hood and they seen the Boss and stuff.

You sure it wasnt a 2010 or less?

No way youre going to beat a 5.0, esp with him getting the hit and you having a stock A4 from a roll.

From what I read on the first run it looks like the 5.0 had a 3 car jump by the time the OP hit the gas he said "as he is approaching the light it turns green and he does the "ricer" fly by had about the cars on me and I couldn't catch him but he wasn't pulling.

Reading comprehension is your friend. I still stand by my first post as possible and its also possible he put 5.0 badges on a 2010 too.

Reading comprehension is,your friend you dumb ***' he said the second time we made a left and he looks over and gasses it. Supposively "he was ready" but the GT still took the hit. And its a faster car. Period. 110 trap vs 105 trap AND the GT took the hit...not happening.

Next time make sure youre right before you talk ****.

Some of you guys are such 5.0 that you are blind to that fact that a stock one can lose on the street pretty easily to an LS1 car. For you magazine racers, out here in the Real World and not that MTV **** either there are masses of stock 5.0s running like 13 second cars on the street. Some of you act like the difference between a 5.0 and an LS1 car is like racing a C6 Z06 vs a Stock F-body.

Official 5.0 Excuse List
The guy couldn't drive
He melted the tires
It was 2010 GT with 5.0 Badges
It was an auto
it wasnt a 3.73 option
He missed a gear
the car wasnt running right (its still 2011 right?)
You sure he was racing?
The stang started out in 2nd
Stang needs a driver mod
Stang Had traction control on
The 5.0 let out
the 5.0 stock runs 12.4@114 no way it can lose to anything

A properly built cam and bolt on LS1 should pimp slap a stock 5.0 with no trouble at all.

Well if you look at power and stuff it is just that. There is easy 80-100hp advantage.

And no excuses needed here. Most of us are smnart enough to knwo the 5,0 is faster then 13's. But I guess those 13 sec 5.0s there are like all the high 13 and 14 sec SRT8's chally/charger everywhere else.

I'm not talking **** at all. I am right by what was posted first run a fly by w/ a three car jump and OP said he stopped his pull but wasn't catching him. Second run was an "even" start and he won by 1/2 to 3/4 car. All I did was list reasons why it could've happened the way OP described as possibilities not necessarily fact. Who pissed in your cheerios this morning.

Agree but there are ones one here with cams said they lost to 5.0s.

Also this is a bone stock car he talking about. Not a full bolt on cammed. Oh wait that K&N air filter added the power of full bolt ons.
