When I bought the 5.0 it was between a used ZO6, 5.0, and a Evo X. Got a few buddies making 600+whp in their EVO's. Nasty as all hell.
The one delaer fucked around about getting me the ZO6 they located and tried getting me to buy a used C6 that was well kinda Ghetto fab with stupid chrome trim everywhere.
Came down to the 5.0 was cheaper then the EVO X and gave Ford dealer better price for my G8 then the Chevy dealer and Mitsu. was going to.

An Evo X can make power just as easily (to a point, we haven't seen 1000+awhp X's yet), but it will always weigh a bit more. It's a more solid, more refined car with more safety equipment and more options.
The X is a better DD, the older Evos were better for racing.
