Brian,

I see your location is in Western NC, do you live near asheville. You should meet up with Sly and a few others sometime on patton.

Down in Lake Lure. Its not to bad of a drive to get up there (Patton). Maybe I'll drive my truck up there Sat. night if you guys will be out. My car will be down for a few weeks. I may have met you about 2 years ago up there. Did you ever hang out in the mustang area with your vette and run at Shady side once in awhile? My car (red ss vert.) was brand new at the time and some one wanted me to run the vette. I can't even remember what color the vette was. Lots of help um?

Bryan,

Yeah, I usually hang out in best food with all the cobra's. There isn't a vette area, and thats the next best thing, j/k, I know the guys. My vette is black. I have been to shady side twice, but I don't think I saw you there. I'll be up there tonight, but not saturday, and next weekend I won't be up there friday, but I will saturday.

cool a buddy of mine just bought a car from down there and we are supposed to be going to some big thing at shadyside. the car won the 50,000 bigdog challenge at piedmont last year. they're putting some nasty blown alcohol motor in it. last year at orlando we run the 10.5 class we went 7.70's with a similar motor in his 67 but the new blue 71 he bought is a better chassis so we should see low 4.50's or better in the 1/8 and drop below 7.50's we hope.

well you said 12's wouldn't work so i figured i'd be truthful so you didn't discriminate. you realyy think i'd drive 7 hours to bring to 12sec cars. we're supposed to be at shadyside soon for a big outlaw 10.5 race.

I'll be there for that one. Suppose to be a $20,000 pay out. I think its the biggest one yet for Shady Side. Last year I saw a blown alcohol 10.5 car there. It was BAD. Only problem. No traction. It was all over the track. Didn't fair to well. The twin turbo cars sound great too.

Well guys, will do it some time. Till them, I'll talk to ya later.

The March race at Shadyside has been postponed to April. You can check it out at: http://www.shadysidedragway.com/

Glad to see our local guys working it out.

Jon, I saw David King last week when we did some tuning on his car. i don't think he is on this forum, or at least I have never seen him here.

I'm not whining. I'm just saying dead stop is a race. To hell with a roll.

DragonZ28,

I really don't feel like getting into it because I don't want this thread to get locked. Everyone is cool here. If you have nothing to contribute go somewhere else. I understand racing from a stop is how you do it, but the only straights around here in the mountains of NC are on the interstate, so coming to a dead stop is really dangerous. We've tried it before, but people coming up behind at 80 mph don't expect 2 cars to be stopped and blocking the interstate so by the time they realize it, its too late.

Sly,

Yeah, it was real fun. That was a pretty good race with you and my brothers 03 cobra. It looked awesome from the car behind. The video came out pretty good. If I can bum a ride off someone, I may be up there tonight again, but I don't know. I'll be up there next saturday for sure with my car. I'll bring the video of you and my bro. It's good footage of your car. It sounds sweet as hell too.

Lady Redhawk,

Hey whats up? What's david king been up to? I haven't seen him in a while. Last I talked to him, he was doing some boltons. Where is he getting tuned at? Is he tuning for those bolt ons, or is he up to something big?

We did three races, the first one was a short jump from about like 30 or 50, and sly ate us by like 3 car lengths, the 2nd one was the best, it was longer, got up to about 110-120, started high in 2nd gear (didnt catch what speed that was) and nailed it, we got a nose on him at the start but he quickly came back and got his rear bumper at our front, that auto makes a big difference compared to our 1.5 second shifts haha, it stayed about like that till 4th gear where we started comin back up on him, we got our front bumper at the front of his door when we shifted to 5th where we shut down, if you watch the video it looks like if we had powershifted it harder to 5th and nailed it we might have crawled ahead but thats up to interpretation, the 3rd race was from a 1st gear roll, close to a stop, both cars lost a little traction but we lost more haha, suffice to say he ate us from close to a stop. We'll post the vids as soon as I can get them transfered to my comp and hosted somewhere.
