To me, I always looked at trap speed as a good indicator of power..more so than ETs. ETs can be manipulated by such things as gearing, tires and as mentiones above, track prep.
With this in mind, the 427R is a 108mph trap car but pushing that much Hp?
Sounds like to me that the Hp numbers are a little over-inflated or the car is extremely heavy. I don't know what it is but something does not add up.

Numbers are overinflated. Probably a 380 crank hp car.

Yet I think one reason Ford was not big on pushing the mustang is cause they had no other car to compare it to. The camaro and TA was no more so no reason to throw gobs of horsepower in it.

The first 5.0s were kicking *** back in the day. The Cobra Rs were nothing to sneeze at and the 93 Cobra was nice for its time. Past Boss's were nice too and what about a late model Mach 1??? Some of your GM guys are BLIND. You don't have to like them and or want to own them but geez....

Based on those dyno runs the cars should trap higher in my opinion. Maybe one of the Roush upgrades includes filling the trunk with rocks

And then only a .1 better with DRs? So somehow that decently heavy car was cutting 1.7x 60fts or better on street tires? Doubtful. iirc, on street tires, high 12s @ 110-111mph.

I think the car went 12.2 @ 111 or 112 mph that pass.

the Cobra-Rs were fast. wanna say C&D or one of the mags took one stock mid 12's at like 114mph but i mean they were pure racing cars. no AC ect.
ive seen quite a few of the 427's run low 13's around 107ish mph.
if you see one running 12.4@whatever. then every other car there will be running about 5-6 tenths quicker also.. just sayin lol

Low 13s @ 107mph I bet were 2.1x 60fts...
