*Videos* Roush 427r Killed by G8 GT
I was on my way to drop the girlfriend off yesterday, coincidentally she lives in Mexico.
When i pull up to the red light on the street before the freeway I see a rare sight. A Z-28, a 350Z, a GTO, and a Mustang! All going in the direction I am going in!
So i pull up on the Z-28, he didn't want to play
Next, I pull up on the Mustang, only to see that it is a Roush 427r and I'm pretty sure they aren't supposed to sound like his did from the factory.
We wait to get on the freeway and this is what happened.

The first race he just takes off and I follow and stop his pull before he shuts down. No ricer fly-by for me!
The second race we actually line up next to each other off of 3 honks.
I kept trying to race the 350z but he kept pointing back at the Roush telling me to race him.
I think the Stang thought he had some driver error so he pulls up to me again...only to get walked...again

Second video is pointed towards the driver side. All you can hear is the last beep and see the blue headlights start to fall back.
From the responses it sounds like the Roush 427 is a joke. Still not bad for taking it in a family sedan. Topped off my night.

Doesn't it feel good to get a win over a "sports car" in a family sedan? I say "sports car" because that is so subjective around these parts . Non the less, it's always demoralizing to lose to a 4 door car that hauls family around and gets groceries.

I've always loved the 427R's, but like most of the Roush/Seleen cars, they don't seem to put up numbers at the track that indicate the power they are rated.
Awesome kills, what do you have done to the G8?

Dude... Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords got a 427r to run a 12.3, stock.

It was an automatic car and the 12.32 was on a drag radial at Englishtown on a cold day. 12.44 was bone stock on the same day.
Traps were between 107 and 109 mph, which I think is low for a car rated 435 at the flywheel.
The 2010 Roush, which was a stick car and was run at a track in Florida, ran 13.26 @ 107.8 mph. This is more indicitive of what you'll see with a regular driver, and is slow for a 435 flywheel horsepower Mustang IMO
Here's the 2008 automatic:

I know the 2 427R Roush's around me that i seen at the track have not ran close to 12.4 stock. They both average from 12.8-13.2. Neither have ran that I know of on a DR yet.

Here's what I came up with:
Quoting Redfire427 on www.mustangforums.com:
"427R is an unlimited build with stage3 suspension for '07 thru '09.
428R is a limited build of 200 cars for each model years '07 & '08 with stage3 susp. and polished supercharger.
429R is a limited build of 100 cars for '09 only with polished S/C and stage3 susp.
All cars have the same output of 435hp."
