Default Caddy Kill

I had a Caddilac STS try to race me tonight. I take off aggressivly like I am want to do, and slow down as I approach the speed limit (ok, 10mph over the limit), and see this guy fly by me. I'm like "we were racing? ok" and stomp it. I was carlengths ahead of him within seconds.

Man what a boat that car must be, cause i thought the Northstar 32v was, in and of itself, a pretty strong runner.

The northstar is a strong runner just not enough to compete with an LS1 car. Those caddy's are heavy and not designed to race. Good kill none the less tho.

my uncle is an automotive master tech, and has repeatedly told me about this time he took a caddy he was working on out for a test drive after finishing working. He came along a 5.0 mustang and c4 vette that were racing on the highway, and proceeded to catch and pass both of them. He is quite impressed with the northstar, and i was until today. maybe it's a beast in a lighter car? does caddy have any light cars? it's funny that they switched to the ls6 for the cts-v instead of trying to beef up the northstar to 400hp... because everybody else in the world seems to think that pushrods are ancient low tech, and ohc is the way to go for everything. i guess we (well, us and vipers) know the truth... it's still hard to beat classic ohv pushrod engines for cheap, durable, reliable performance.

Nice kill Pat... I thought that the CTS's did around 14's in the 1/4? I mean, thats nothing special, but thats still some pep for a sporty luxury car...

Sevelle STS, not CTS. but still, it's got a 300hp northstar in it, it should be good for at least mid 14second times i think. and yes, i trashed it pretty badly. i'm really curious now to see what my car will run when MIR reopens. i was guessing 13.6 to 13.8 or so, but i'm wondering if i got a particularly strong ls1, cause I was ****** with a 911 carerra the other night too and I felt faster than it (no good chance to really line up and run hard and straight).

Oops, I thought I read CTS for some reason... Hmm, 911 Carerra, eh? Are you still stock? Cuz they got about the same power, with less weight... But they are about 13 second cars, so yeah, not out of the question that you could be faster.

stock is a state of mind.

yeah well ok, yes i'm still 100% bone stock (unless you count a $7 fram paper air filter, which you shouldn't, or castrol syntec oil which you also shouldn't), probably the only stock fbody on the site.

I had a nothstar and it was pretty fast. It would beat stock 5.0's and L98's etc. I didnt even try a LT1 or LS1. Its not that fast. But it did convince me an A4 could perform much better than they did in the 80's where 5-speeds ruled
