Odarabla's infinite BS thread for the foreskinned (AKA Smack Down)
Some guys that run that class post on yellowbullet, they claim 2600ish lb weight without driver and i believe 2800-2900lb with driver. Z06 is around 3200 without driver.
LS6 has only been .08 slower and i think heavier too and traps more MPH though

Nice to see 10+ year old tech still getting it done.

Well guys we've gone at it again. This past weekend we went to Ford Fever @ MIR and we ran our 2011 Coyote Stock Car.
Specs -
2011 Mustang GT
Race Weight - 2940 w/ Driver (not NMRA legal)
NMRA Sealed Coyote Stock Engine - (Stock from intake to oil pan)
JLT Cold Air Intake
L & M Throttle Body
FTW Racing Fuel
Kooks Headers
JPC Custom Tune
The car went 10.147 @ 134.85 this weekend and took home the win for the Mild Street Class.
http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...-COYOTE-ENGINE
Then they removed more weight to get there PB
"Running higher octane racing fuel as well as about 350 pounds lighter than is allowed under NMRA guidelines"
http://www.stangtv.com/news/jpc-brea...coyote-engine/
NMRA guidelines is 3100 with driver-350lbs= 2750.

Curb weight is 3,162 lbs for a c6z which varies depending on gas, hence why i said "around 3200"

Guess you can't read.
"Reports on the JPC Facebook page are also saying this run was made with tire spin and short shifting, which would indicate that there are probably faster ET’s to be found in this trim. Regardless the haters have already fired up their keyboards and are quick to point out that “It’s not a stock car” as well as most of the other usual whining that we see whenever someone manages to pull off such an amazing accomplishment. "

The ls myth is strong. Mustangs get lighter with weight reduction mods but c6zs get heavier btw I found the actually weight of the car and not some made up Adamderp number it was 2870 for the 9.96 pass.

This kind of conversation makes it nice to be around a place where people aren't worried about weight reduction; just making more power.
You want light, find a miata swap; go get an RX-7 and swap it. You can still have a full interior car that isn't a rattle can. If you're driving a stang, don't claim or talk about light. If you claim it is, I guarantee it's a **** can.
I'll seriously doubt Heater or Lawhead will disagree w/ this. Besides, isn't the stang motto that the Vette shouldn't be compared to the Mustang? I don't disagree at all BTW.
Auto, you know that's not the case, deal is show me the 1st C6Z that's turned into a "weight reduced car". Tough to find bro. People don't rat out their C6Z's. People do rat out their stangs.

When you start off a 30xx it does not need much weight reduction. Let's not forget how much easier it is to get weight out of a mustang compared to a c6. You can get a mustang pretty damn light and it not be a rattle/**** can. Just have to be willing to spend the money on lightweight parts.
I do look forward to seeing the Z28 b/c that'll be a better apples to apples comparo. Then again, I don't think we'll see many that are run at all. They priced it for the collector, and since they're already sold out, I'd say the collectors picked them up quick.
Oh well, we'll look to the LT1 v 5.bro since it's not changing.
The other way to look at this is "look at what it takes" to make it competitive.

Probably not I wish the z28s were not so highly priced and limited.
No worries, you're still several steps above me on the food chain, so there's always that. Just remember, wherever you are, no matter how slow you feel, there's some poor chump out there with a modular that's got it worse.

Here's the aforementioned z06 on a 200 shot. No weight reduction aside from the Welds.
