Anybody ever own a old Crown Victoria Police Interceptor? Thinking about getting one for a winter beater this year at school.

Thanks
Zack

When my brother was a cop, they had a couple of them with 250k plus miles on them. The 4.6s are super reliable.

Do it. Look for an '06+; those have the revised cluster, a tach, and an hour meter. Watch out for slipping converters and bad alternator pulleys.

Whats the difference with the 4.6 in the crown vic vs mustang gt? Is it just different heads and cams?

AFAIK they're identical minus the exhaust system. Comfy *** cars!

Same engine, just different intake/exhaust and possible ECU tuning.

Did ford also put the 3v in the crown vic as well? Or did it just stay with the 2v?

I think this is the way I will go. I was looking at buying another G-body Regal for a daily at school, but there does not seem to be many available for me. I kind of want a more modern car anyways. Later on down the road, I can always build a killer turbo 2v 3.

It's not a dumb question, Ford did some tricky stuff with motors. A lot of people don't know the 4v 4.6 in the Mark VIIIs was the same as the Cobra 4Vs of that time, also.

Notch swapped lincoln 4v into a 2v car last year for a guy. Guy had it tuned and said it made 330whp. Sounded a bit high for the way it ran to me.

If you mean shortblock, yeah there were some differences.

A few guys on the department have them and seem to like them. I've seen what my friends do while on duty to those damn things so I wouldn't own one but that's just me. haha

Wow, nice job! Lenses look nice and you really livened up that dull gray to a nice black.

Loved my crown vic. Was sad when my department went to the gutless V6 chargers. I got in 3 wrecks with that thing and didn't get seriously hurt once. They are tanks. Watch out for exhaust leaks bad front suspension and slipping converter.
