Think I found my chassis... guy at the gym has a 2000 Camaro V6 w/ 200k miles. needs paint etc. He is buying a Honda daily driver soon and said he would sell the Camaro to me for 400-500 bucks. Waiting for him to be ready. Then buy, gut, and start working on a swap.

So been talking to my dad about my car thats in the shop. He said just drive it till i save up enough money to do the swap. He says it may cost 3k+ to get it fixed and he rather put that towards the swap. I thinking thats what ima do. I would really like to see how well this set up runs but im sure i can find a Lq4/9 for less than the $1600 i would have to give just for him to pull the engine and for the leak down test (which was $100)

If it were me. I would find a cheap 6.0 motor from the junkyard. Pull your motor and swap all the good parts over to it (cam, heads, front cover, oil pump, etc etc.). Your 241 heads should raise your compression about half a point on the 6.0 motor and save some weight over the iron heads. With an LQ4 that would be 10-1 and on an LQ9 that would be 10.5-1. If this combo doesn't make 430whp at the minimum... Find a new tuner lol. You might be able to put it together, depending on price, etc, for like 1k...

I bought it on Friday morning and drove it to tnt that same night. It was stock down to the paper filter and air silencer. It's funny how you believe that a 85 305 IROC ran 14.5 all day but at the same time not believe that a stock 5.0 with more hp and less weight ran faster.
