i've ran into hondas before. the fast ones around here trap 140+ and typically aren't on the street because they are a HANDFUL. my mild bolt on car has fits with most any gutted import making 300+ whp. and how many of those guys are honest about their mods? unless i have a shot hidden somewhere you can look at my engine/under the car and determine it's not fast haha.
I can run with my friends' prelude that traps 135 in the quarter on the street. Instant traction is a ************. I let off at 145 before he can ever come around me

If it was old and beat up, and weighed 2,500lbs, it wasn't gutted. So one of those things they told you about that car was a lie.

I agree, no shame in losing to any well setup car.

Btw, the old early/mid 90's Civic's weighed around 2,300 lbs stock. Late 90's/2000 weighed around 2,600 lbs.

One of my buddy's use to have a fully built, full weight 2000 Civic Si with a T3/T4 turbo and stock cams. We use to have a load of fun beating the snot out of **** talking V8 Fbody's, Mustangs and Vettes. I had a 13 sec '89 notchback Mustang 5.0 and he would destroy me when running them. His was a great sleeper though, visually all stock except for Integra type R wheels.

410whp is a very solid amount of power. Can play with pretty much any car on the streets with that.

Sounds like some nice people to let you drive the car afterward. There's no way I would let a stranger drive my car.
