Red face talk about a humbling

I was going home after work and i see this hondas burning out and looking at me. hes in front of me yelling something. im thinking WTF is wrong with this guy.

he then pulls up next to me saying his car is a v8 killer. i said not mine LOL was i wrong. so i said lets run.

we pull out onto a highway he says go on three honks. after my second honk he takes off im thinking wtf. so we go again. i know he has something so i drop it in low. my trans is built with a stall. i honk off we go at about 40. he spins were even for a bit then i take a slight lead then that honda pulls ahead a little then backs off. i was at about 90. i was thinking he shouldve stayed in it but whatever.

so i see him later and he says he got me. so i asked why he backed off my car has more. he said so does his.

i asked to take a look. its a gutted car with a built 2.0 with an SC. he said it makes 410 and it weighs about 2500.

we were talking for awhile and they offered to let me drive it. lets just say that shitbox has *****. they claim 10 sec. and i believe them. it has a 6 speed and makes power everywhere. i punched it in 6th and it took off hard.

nice guys and they know their import motors. heres a site they referred me to and that 4th vidoe is something like that car i ran.

i should be mad but im not. they claim they beat on domestics all the time. LOL.

that car was setup and they did know how to drive it. i stilll hate that torque steer. the power comes on quickly but different from a v8.

sleeper for sure. loud though lol. ****** has gauges in it and a 6 speed.

running into an actual fast Honda on the street is about as rare as an alien abduction...90% of the Hondas out there would get raped by a stock F body...but yeah there are some fast ones out there...but just like in your experience...they are usually gutted..and are not very good street cars...so more or less...F#%K THEM

i agree it looks and sounds horrible and is gutted. but im sure its what theyre going for in order to fool cars into thinking its slow. but it seemed very streetable. no air or heat though.

You said SC as in supercharged? I could see them doing turbo on that small 2.0, but a super seems kinda outaplace.

so...your car trapped 113 and was within a football field of this supposed 410 whp 2500lb car? i don't buy it. either your car is much faster, or he was only making 310 at the time haha.

i've ran into hondas before. the fast ones around here trap 140+ and typically aren't on the street because they are a HANDFUL. my mild bolt on car has fits with most any gutted import making 300+ whp. and how many of those guys are honest about their mods? unless i have a shot hidden somewhere you can look at my engine/under the car and determine it's not fast haha.

I know someone who has very nice built Civic. I probably could beat him at the 1/8th mile but that's about it. He doesn't claim to be off the line fast.

I used to have a 420whp Del Sol. My old WS6 had 414whp and my lowboost tune (310whp) in the Del Sol would pull pretty hard from it. 420whp in the Del Sol was just murder to it, so 410 would pull from you harder than you think.

I have a video of my low-boost tune leaving a modded 10' Camaro pretty bad lol.

We have a lot of imports around us. Some making 300whp and some making 550whp. The fast ones never want to go from a dig. And the real fast ones that do go from a dig you never really see on the street. Either way one the shops has a mid 10 sec gutted civic. It made almost 600whp with a turbo.

Yea..gutted Civics are light as hell and do not need much Hp / Trq to get them to move.
However, did you ever try to pick up or take a chic out on a date with a gutted Civic? Better yet, try to get laid in one. You fkin foot is hanging out the back window, the stick shift is up your *** and your head is in the heater vent.

ah i gotcha. no new times or they are super secret now, eh? either way, roll racing vs. a car with nearly the same hp and -1000 lbs will result in a dog walking. there are a ton of "fast" imports around here. they all lead in with "i only made 420 whp on the dyno"...but fail to mention the car traps 135 haha. i love going to the hang outs on saturday night just to listen and watch the bs fly.

good death. 420 on a md is nothing to sneeze at, esp through an automagic. i'd guess that to easily be a high 10 car @ low 120s all day.

No shame in losing to a well set up car. Honorable death.
