Default LSX SUPERCHARGED CORVETTE vs. BOOSTED TALON AWD

Got to vid a pretty cool little run between an LSX Corvette and boosted Talon last Saturday night. It was a bit mismatched, but made for a cool video.
And yeah, I wasn't crazy about the traffic situation either, so let's not fill up the thread with radical fascist comments over that....it's a given, k?

Traffic was just too ridiculous....plus we all know the ultimate outcome of that. Had the HP margin not been so wide, we might have entertained that

is the corvette a autotragic? If so I give the win to whomever used a manual trans...

One day I want my V to have some serious power... But even then maybe 500-600whp... one day.

ANd I know the newer evos arent strickly speaking DSMs... But anyway!

Nice thing on a evo is brake boosting. Not so sure that would work on the vette

You know an auto car traps higher in the 1/4 every time
Where you're dealin with that much power, ya gotta figure out a way to get it to the ground and get the quickest time and trap speed as possible!

so your driving skill just isnt up to handling the car that you built?

I am just anti Automatics...

Of course they are faster and more predictable... They make you just a monkey behind the wheel instead of someone directly in control of the car..

We noticed.....close mindedness appears to run rampant these days....oh well.
And this dude shifts better than anyone I know or have ever ridden with. If he decides to go with an auto in his $100,000 build, I'd say it was a calculated decision

Enlightned not close minded. To be intune with your car you should have as MUCH control as possible and be as involved in the actions of your car.

He isnt going for the feel he is going for the result. He MUST be the fastest... I must enjoy no matter how fast I go...

Yeah, I feel ya bro...I enjoy the stick in my WS6. And his previous car was a 1016HP 6spd GTO, so he did it that way then, and went auto this time. Like I said, calculated decisions

different ways of saying the SAME thing. He was most interested in the END result. I am more interested in the experiance...

He calculated that in his quest for a better result(faster car) he needed to go automatic.

its down to whether you want to be able to say I ran a xx.xxx at the track or my CAR ran a xx.xxx.

because in a automatic its really more about the CAR running a time and a LOT less about YOU actually doing anything to get there other than hold on and stomp on the go pedal.

But as I said... your friend made a calculation when making it a automatic. I dont like to calculate my drive. I much prefer to FEEL my drive.

Are you sure the Vette would be able to run down the DSM in a 1/4 mile?

On the street?

No...all other things equal, generally:

Auto = Quicker ET & lower trap

Manual = Slower ET & higher trap
