Humbled by a Supra
Was cruising down the highway in the T/A when a grey last generation Supra rolled past me. Younger guy and girl. When he got by me I noticed he had big exhaust, wide tires, licesne plate that said booostme and a Titan Motorsports license plate frame. First thing that popped into my head was wow this guy would smoke me lol but I always liked Supras and wanted to see it go.
Soo after passing a couple cars there was nothing else in front of us so I got up next to him in the slow lane at about 75, 80. Looked over at him, put it in 4th, tapped the gas a few times and took off. Right as I went WOT he had just downshifted and got on it too. Even with my exhaust I still heard his turbo spooling up so I pulled maybe a little more than a car length ahead. At about 100 he roared up next to me, looked over, started tapping the gas and playing with me and pulled about 2 car lenghts to about 115.
Wow that was awesome I thought to myself. Lets do it again . Got up next to him again, gave him the thumbs up, took off at about 80 and this time he didnt play around. He almost instantly pulled even with me and then pulled about 3 to 4 car lengths to 120, maybe more. Needless to say, it was a good humbling, although I did ask for it .
Cliffs: Raced Supra on highway, pulls a quick 3 to 4 cars from ~80-120.

I don't think 700whp is the norm for a Supra! Id say 500whp is the norm... I know of a few people in my area with 1,000+hp supras, one who's a member on this forum (Y2KFRC) who's pushing over 1300hp in his...

Good you at least had fun with it. If that Supra is running a single turbo, a H/C swap and you probably still won't have the edge. But they are fun to see how fast there are when you run into them. Even with a stock motor, head and cams, a 2JZ Supra with a single turbo upgrade, fuel system and ECU work can humble almost anything on the street. I'm not saying everything, just most.
Stock block, head and cams MK4 Supra can run 700hp with easy all day every day.
