8 seconds is stretching it... not many pump gas street cars run 8's, There is a handful of guys who have 7 second strrert legal cars, and a few 6 second street legal (all GM V8 turbo cars for the 6 second club)
most of them are turbo V8's who run 7's and street legal pump gas.
There are some street legal 7-8 sec Supra's but they are rare. norm for a 900-1200 hp Supra would be high 9's to low 11's
From a roll though they are crazy wicked vs anything.

My car went 8's first time out on E85. Stock 6spd, stock rear end, only weight removed was the rear seat. Also put over 500 miles on it that weekend and over 40 street hits. These things are pretty amazing

Now a properly setup 540ci+ aftermarket block big TT engine of course is going to make more power. But on nitrous I'm in the 1400rw-ish area on my stock block, stock crank, 6 banger

Typical SOFLA supra is rolling around on anywhere from 600+wheel to 1300+ wheel down here on a daily basis. Been happening for years,...primarily why my car resides as a highway geared 6 speed car....and xxxx wheel. Haven't been in a car yet that has been beaten by a supra, yet we've raced many here in SOFLA.

2Jz Supra's are just downright evil. I've seen many FI V8 cars with similar power levels get rolled on a highway roll. It's gotta be something about their powerband or whatever, don't know, never built/drove one. All I know is they don't seem to have too many problems with V8s or even V10s for that matter.

Just some minor nitpicking...

Considering all of the federal & local emissions legislation, I am safely able to say there is not a single street-legal automobile automobile in the USA running the times you indicate. They may have current tags, etc., but they are not street legal.

That's right. It's the rpm range where Supra's make torque (and they make a lot of it), that's why they'll pull from similar horsepower V8 cars on highway races. Their torque comes in strong around 4k rpm and climbs really hard to 6k-6500 rpm. Their torque curve is perfect for street racing.

For example: a 675-700whp Supra will make real close to 600wtq.

Owning a Mid 600 hp Supra now, the days of having low 400 - 500 hp Single turbos is all about dead with alot of the owners switching from pump gas to E85. My car used to push 442 rwhp prior to getting a fuel system and ProEFI comp the set up an tune the car gained over 200 rwhp. The power band is kicking in higher 3k to full boost 4.5k using a meager 61mm turbo with stock block and cams. I could LS1 would be hard pressed to keep up with modded Supra on a roll no less. I could see how a h/c/nos would be minimum to keep up with even a Turbo Supra like mine like my own anything larger you'd be better off getting a Turbo or S/C. Props for trying.
