The old W2W camaro (casper) went .13 quicker with a 352 LQ4.
I bet MMR will be quicker when they get the car sorted out though.
I think more people would swap in the 5.4l mod motor (my personal favorite) if it wasn't so big.
It's about 5 inches bigger in width and height, but roughly the same length (I think the LS is slightly longer).

Apples to oranges. Each engine has made roughly the same power (LSX vs 5.4 mod).
The 4.6 hasn't quite made the same power as the 5.4l or the LSX though.
Quickest is relative to the package, it doesn't make one powerplant better than the other.
TitanMotorsport's Celica went 6.65 @ 209. They did it in an 1800 pound pro stock car.
All these engines, setups, and weights are limited by the class they run in.
If there were pro stock cars running LS engines, I would bet they'd be close to John's times.
Hell, John would probably be DEEP into the 5's without a weight limit or turbo limits.
The big name LS cars run in the LS classes (the ones in LSX challenge and shootout), none of which are at pro stock level.
This is where the money is and this is why you don't see any pro stock cars with LS engines.

..like i said before...i could outrun you using only my cruise control switch to accelerate...i'm going to the track in about 3 more weeks..i will post vids of what 10 second passes look like while running a stock 10 bolt with stock 3.23 gears..i might even take my sons car seat out the back this time
