I like how you guys compare the LS1 to the 5.0 when it's favorable to the LS1; but as soon as the 5.0 is compared with the advantage going to the 5.0, all of a sudden the LS1 is old and outdated

Also a vette guy just said a LS3 full bolt on Vette should run mid-high 11s. HMMMM

Not to mention there is a lot of us bolt on guys not running what we should if the 10s then. I watched a gang of cammed Fbody run in the 12s. And raced one that went high 11s. So I guess they should have stayed full bolt ons. Then again they was full weight. Drove to the track then home.
No that 5.0 was not full weight and they had pics of it. It was gutted, no powerbrake, no ac .....nothing under the hood but the motor. It had drag brakes, full drag setup, drag wheels and all.

What advantage? Stock for stock, bolt on for bolt on...yeah I will give the 5.0 that. But, it still hasn't produced as much N/A horsepower as the 14 year old LS1. I think ive seen one shop car this whole time that supposedly made a tad over 500whp - that being the only one so far. Pat G did that with a stock bottom LS1 like 7 years ago...lol. Heck, had it not been for the conservative tune on my '99 I would be at/over the 500 mark no doubt. Oh, did you see 'Chris1313's 540rwhp dyno with stock bottom, H/C?? Eh...I didn't think so.

With that said, the Coyote is impressive no doubt. I wouldn't mind parking one in my garage next to my SS in the near future.

Full on race piece of crap? Oooook... You talk too much crap yourself. Bragging about your total engine replacement car and the best you can do is 11's. Big whoop, race car watcher...

PS If you care more about trap speeds and ET's, we can't tell by your back and forth sniveling. It's never "just right" for you unless YOU make all the rules... That makes you a whiner.
What's your 4.6 run? Does it really matter what someone else has done? Everytime a thread like this gets started you ford guys start talking about what some others records are that makes a yours>mine argument. What's yours run again??????
I have no sniveling. I've been to the track and seen this **** run. You guys don't like the facts. I have several friends with fords, they go threw this **** all the time. They know the deal.
The can all be fast but the amount of effort spent to get there is greatly in favor of Chevy.
If you wanna talk about my engine, it's a stock ls6 with bolt-ons. It's been in there since '02 because a buddy blew my ls1 up and the ls6 was a easy swap. So far that almost 10 yr old (80k) production engine has out trapped your beloved 5.0 by 2 mph in a daily driven car. If I had a real drag set-up it would go faster, but it is my dd so I go to the track and limp it out on the 10bolt.

The 500whp was achieved with stock cams being reground. Now there is cams coming out and more being tested. IT will be closer to 550whp soon enough. And then with some more pushing will make to 600whp. But funny now your LS1 is old. And teh LS3 in the Camaro's are making huge HP but yet to run the times they are making for the power.

I know who Pat G is. He did tune my G8 for N/A and spray. Great guy and very smart when it comes to putting a combo toegther. His G8 made 500whp N/A as well.

Well see. I think heads and cams in the 5.0's aren't going to be any crazy gains in the 4v but well see when more aftermarket starts coming out.

Funny you say that but yet you do not have a LS6 crate engine. And I DD mine as well.

As your LS1 in your sig was way slower then my bolt on 5.0. And with good air I will be right there with your crate engine. WIth bolt ons.

Now lets compare Camaro LS3 to mustang 5.0. Hmm seems the camaro is making way more power. Yet they are still running slower mod for mod.

ANd I have seen plenty of C/H/I LS1 Fbody's run slower then me all day long. Even a C/H/I LS2 GTO. THis was at SAR same night "work in progress" car which is Cammed with bolt ons ran slower and trapped 4mph less then me.

Comp Cams/Bruenspeed claimed 45whp from the stage 3 cams on one that didn't have ported heads yet or Boss intake.

Agree big as pain. That why I have a friend that does this for a living..LOL

It seems most are saying F' cams and just going boost. The market kinda took to long. They announced them they waited 7 months to release them. Then had no real numbers to back them up.

I have yet yo see somebody post a stock cube ls1 making as much power as a stock cube 5.4 4v on motor? Sorry to break it to gm but the 5.0 is not the first n/a modular to make power. Hell even the little 281 has broke 500 on motor lol

Here is a 5.4 4V N/A that made 543 hp at 7,100 rpm to an amazing 1,350 hp with a procharger.

If you want to talk about swapping it into a mustang then I can pull out a different list
Have you not looked at what cars the 5.4 comes in? 5.4 2 valve- Ford f series truck(97-04), expedition(97-04), svt lightning(99-04). 5.4 3 valve- ford expedition(05+), lincoln navigator(05+), ford f series(04-10). 5.4 4 valve- Lincoln navigator(99-04), ford gt(05-06), shelby gt500(07-12). Only performance cars the 5.4 is in out of those is the lightning, gt, and gt500

And the race weight of one a few that went high 10's and low 11s are just as much as mine. And they DD them. That is the videos I posted of WNM and Revolution Automotive.

Well the ls1 was'nt full bolt-on. It had headers and free mods done. No tune, no gears, no tires, stock catback even. If the ls1 was in the car right now it would run 11.7-11.8. There is only 60rwhp difference between the ls1 and ls6. Right where your at.....funny right.

Not according to what fast fords and mustang mag, pics are worth a thousand words. I guess you can dd a gutted car with drag brakes and all, I'm not. The other bolt-on 5.0's were right where you are, high 11's.

522/440 through a TH-350 and 12-bolt. Just imagine what an M6 swap would produce.

C'mon man. I thought we were talking rear-wheel horsepower here. The LS1 made 580-600 flywheel HP almost a decade ago.

Still impressive out of a 302 tho.

Pics are worth that..And What was the DA when you ran? That is what makes the difference. Mine correct for good air was 11.42@122. And that still don't take the humidity into account.
Best Pass: 11.19/122
Race Weight: 3,510

Having tirelessly tested numerous products on Woodbine Motorsports' in-house project car, Joe Jones obviously landed on a combination that works. He established himself as the heavy-hitter in NA Street with an 11.33 qualifying shot. This put Joe on easy street for eliminations, as he took out Marco Ponce Jr. and Calvin Atwell with relative ease before facing off with Texan Charles Mason in the finals. Joe had a rough time in the burnout box, and Charles got the jump at the Tree. However, Joe had the steam to reel him in before the stripe for the win (11.43 versus 11.70).

Best Pass: 11.19/122
Race Weight: 3,510(that with out Driver)

JLT cold air intake
Dynotech one-piece aluminum driveshaft
Dynatech long-tube headers with cat-less midpipe

Impressive . Your buddies auto ran that without exhaust work, or a BOSS? Am I missing something? Also, I thought "race weight" was WITH the driver? Wouldn't it be curb weight then, in race trim? Just wondering.
