Got owned... I was on my way home the other night, minding my own business, when I was passed by a Impreza. It wasn't a WRX or STI, it was the older 2.5RS. It had wide wheels all the way around, no annoying fart cannon, and no huge wing... What could go wrong? Well, A LOT!
I pulled up to his door, and paced him for a minute, waiting for him to go for it. The guy slowed down a little bit and looked over. It was time to have fun. I floored it about the same time he did, but it was in vein. From about a 40-50mph roll, he left me, no, he ran off from me. I was thinking that I should be able to get him on the top end of the run... NOPE. I have never been walked away from by any car that I have ran like I was by that Impreza.
My car has a Vindicator cam, Yank SS4000 stall, Strange S60 w/3.73's, long tube headers, TSP true duals minus cats, and a couple of other small things. It is set up for nitrous, but I didn't have the bottle in, nor do I think that would have changed the outcome. Power is 397rwhp and 377rwtq. My car weighs around 3500lbs.
His car was turbocharged with around 18psi on a break-in tune. He said it was the first run on his new setup. The car was pushing about 450awhp and same number in torque. It weighed about 2800lbs. The guy informed me that he was a manager at a speed shop in the local area. Very respectable car and a stand up owner. I was extremely impressed by his car.

Sorry for not replying in a timely manner. I haven't ran the car at the strip. I will not speculate what it should run for fear of over estimating. I was thinking turbo sooner or later, and have somewhat of a plan for if I do.

Happens to the best of us man. Raced a 240 a few weeks ago thinking "this won't be pretty for him, another win under my belt" but didn't know his setup. He walked the dog on me. Had me by a good 2 cars by the time we shut down. Turns out it had about 360whp. It had a bigass intercooler up front but I thought it was just another typical t3/t4 setup pushing like 7 lbs of boost. I was wrong.

Well, it was FI. No big deal, he's probably put a huge amount of money in the car to make an Impreza faster than a Camaro with mods. Honorable death. Throw the nitrous or FI in there and you'd blow him away, I'd bet
