GTO vs 03 Cobra
Yes it was definately IMHO the ugliest Mustang ever from Ford. Something that is crazy and I did not believe is a 2000 R with nothing but exhaust and a tune will run 121mph in the 1/4th. I called BS at first but apparently they do. I will find the thread on SVTP when I get home.

and BTW, Ju1ce i didnt mean to give false info, did you really oput the skid plate and all that BS back on even though your going right back to modding it?

Yea that makes alot of sense to. lol. Cause the first Vette came out in what 1953 or 1954??? But they bounce back and forth between the GTO and the Mustang being the 1st muscle cars
Can't quote on my phone, but pretty sure the weights for 03/04 cobras are 3665 for the coupe and 3780 for the verts for those wondering. So that's not a whole lot more than a GTO is it? I mean hell im a new Cobra owner and love it but I was always under the impression it was a drivers race between a terminator and ls2 gto. And I've noticed from other past threads that Ju1ce can drive and his car runs strong, so I don't doubt the kill at all. Especially if the Cobra driver wasn't as good. Good kill!

It beat the base C5 in 2000, but they weren't even in the same league.
As we all know, the Z06 came out a year later and it was quicker in every way while also being cheaper.
The C5Z cost 6 grand less (49k vs 55K).
It made more power, and it weighed less.
In a straight line race, the C5Z was barely quicker.
It was also 2 seconds quicker around willow springs.
So yeah, it made the base C5 look stupid, while costing a great deal more.
But it's real rival didn't come until the next year. It's kinda like how the 03 Cobra came out a year after the last 4th gen and spanked it.

The Corvette also competes in world challenge, but in a different class.


My impression from that thread is that 1/2 the people think he`s got a racecar that he`s trying to pass off as stock, while the other 1/2 think he`s got a 108 mph car that he claims traps 120+.
What? Ford and independent teams have raced the mustang for years and they still do, just not at Le Mans.

Ever driven in a 2000 R or seen one up close, underneath etc. Car will EASILY rival a Zo6 handling and stopping. Pretty cool cars with rear seat delete from the factory, big fuel cell. For a mustang its definetly one of my favorites.
