LOL THERE WAS NO 99-01 COBRA. It was 99, 01 Cobra. Good God people
99 Cobra had MUSTANG on the back and 01 had COBRA on the back. The 00 Cobra R had a V6 Mustang bumper.

99 Cobra = Mustang Bumper
2000 Cobra = V6 Bumper
2001 Cobra = Cobra bumper.
That would mean 99-01 since there were all 3 model years.

Mostly because there was no 02 cobra the 03 debuted in summer of 02 as next years model there was an 01 then it skipped to 03. someone correct me here but the op said it had cobra on the bumper i know the 99 just said mustang while the 03-04 say cobra what did an 01 say?
99/01 cobras are typically hard to launch due to their IRS and many times they cant break into the 13s therefore this outcome isnt hard to believe.
However i wouldve expected the lt1 to get the jump and then the cobra to reel it in.

Um how was mine a fail 01/02 svt cobras are n/a.
03 they went F/I, that's a fact. So it was more than likly a n/a cobra witch is a mid13 sec car witch is a good race for a basicly stock lt1. Pleas forgive us gm guys for not knowing every little thing about the rustang's.

Nobody calls the Cobra R a "Cobra," though. And yes, it does confuse people.

Uhhh, you can't? It was a limited edition race car. Were they just for show, and not available to be purchased?
It's not a "Mustang fact," it's a "car-guy fact." Doesn't it kinda suck to only know about one kind of car? I like being able to go to a car show and actually converse with people there without sounding like an idiot.

I know. That is why I pointed out the difference of the trim levels, as most people think if a Mustang has a Snake emblem, it is an 03/04 Cobra and is super fast.

The Cobra R and Cobra are not the same thing. Different motor, different transmission, different body parts, different exhaust, different interior, different fuel systems, different build numbers. If what you say makes sense then there were 2 Cobras built in the same year?

No.
I am saying there was a 99 Cobra, a 2000 Cobra R, a 2001 Cobra, a 2003 Cobra and a 2004 Cobra.
Most people won't know the difference between those model years unless you are a car guy.
I know the differences, I have owned 4 Mustangs, one of which was an 03 10th Anni. The 99, 01 and 2000 Cobra R were all N/A. Go figure....
Point being, if someone sees a Cobra emblem on a mustang, the average person that does not know better, will automatically think Cobra, and not wonder if it is an N/A 315HP model, 385HP model, or an F/I 425 HP (Underrated from Ford)
