Lastnight I go over a friends house and his little brother is there with his Honda crew and gets his friends started on the whole let's race ****. I blow him off and go inside. Well he comes in and says that his friend is outside with his car and that it will spank my ***. Again I blow him off. When I go outside to leave the kid (with his girlfriend) asks me if I'm stock and I said no. He tells me that he walks older mustangs all day and that he'll do the same with me. I laughed and got in the car.when I'm pulling out I noticed the crew followed. I decided to let him have it at that point. I went over to a road that had a very long straight and little to no traffic. We lined up and rolled at about 20mph three honks and we were off. I instantly pulled 3 to 4 cars and for good measure pulled a greyhound on his ***. Then he said that he was manually shift the gears and wanted a 60mph roll. Again pulled a greyhound maybe two. I slowed down and he stayed way behind and wouldn't come up back up. We went back to my buddies and he was M.I.A. His car supposedly had a supercharger and exhaust and some other stuff done. Mind you his car is an 87' four door Honda civic dx with the original motor.

 

I have always wondered if these honda guys are serious. I wonder if they actually believe that they drive a fast car?

This! The guys I know that have 500whp+ civic don't talk a lot smack less you call them out. They are some that run 11s all way to 10 sec cars. Again non them talk **** less you call them out.

 

I love when **** like this happens. Next time tell them to put some money down if they're so sure.

 

This is something some guy posted on facebook when my friend said he just bought a turbo hatch. I didnt read it all but the synopsis is that he thinks he can build a honda for 3k that would rape any car with 45k in it



They really are. 400$ buys me an engine that will last 300k+ miles. When 6k+ gets me no where near the longevity or the fun in any other company. But everything else in the car is awful whether it's stock or aftermarket. Honda is not a performance brand that at the same time is. They are not actual functioning cars. $1.5k-$3k you run low 10's $3-$6k mid 8's. Good luck finding that in some other brand. I am not just talking 1.5k in work I'm also including the price of the car it's self. LOL. Go on craigslist. You want a cheap **** car that will beat a Camaro? You have 2k you don't need? **** inspection and emissions oil is 5w20/30 every bolt is 3/4 every light in this 1989-1995 works every function still in place. Yeah there is rust on the back wheel well and the brakes are ****. But Honda is power to weight high reving engines over the competitions power and top speed. We can all agree very few Hondas in the end will achieve 170+mph. It's not built for top speed. They are tuned and modified to run quarter miles and destroy back roads. That is really their goal. They are uncomfortable not attractive not ***** magnets. They won't turn heads as you drive by, outside of enthusiasts and car thieves. But I will say after having two cars stolen in my life time. (NOT BOTH HONDA LOL. One Honda one Mazda.) That for a while I was test driving every car I could. From the Wrx STI to the lancer Evo, genesis, 350z, 240sx, supra, mustang etc. They all had their perks and their drawbacks. I can firmly say I love honda. Reason Reliable/cheap to both maintain and re-build/practicality/fun/​ and over all feel on the road. It is literally like mario kart every day. I am a Nissan fan for top car. Gtr,350 nismo, 240sx ♥. They are quality. I am a Toyota fan for reliability and good sense. Tacoma, Camry, and old Corollas. But when it comes to me having fun for the smallest dime all while not sacrificing reliability and performance. Honda.

 

He has some good points here...for a majority of the imports..( I came from an import background ) never owned a honda and probably never will unless its an NSX JDM ITR or S2K...I'll change my mind if those 3 come along at a fair price..heading to autox and road racing these little puckers do well with suspension work lightness and balance..I had a little CRX keep up with me on the road course at buttonwillow with a stock B16 swap and suspension..Obviously left him in the straights but nonetheless I can't complain...if it wasn't for the straights he would have probably won..turds that do the street race thing and get ***** up thinking they are the **** should get sun burned and slapped a million times...not to say they can't win a drag..but they are in drive-train sense..at a disadvantage..

I just got a call from my buddy and now the kid is saying that his car wasn't running right and that it's faster than that. He tells him he usually run 9.6 in the 1/8 and he's gonna give it a tune up.
I'm done wasting gas on him.

 

For that amount he will have a car that might make one or two passes. If you are going to build it right you will want a K20 or K24 block. Not the cheapest honda engine. But can handle hella power with stock internals even. Then teh turbo kit and built tranny etc. We have two big import shops around us and another upcoming. There is bigger in Austin/Dallas/Houston etc but these small shops are right with them in the 1/4 mile. The one shop has two honda's that are fast. The one turbo one runs mid 10s in the middle of summer. The other ran low 11s N/A middle summer. That was with DA's of 3700 or more.

They can be done cheaper but as mentioned they will be gutted and will not be driven on the street. They are not going to get you laid any time soon less its some track hoe.

 

Dont waste your gas tell him to put money up so he will pay for your gas.

Hondas CAN be quick little cars, I for one appreciate a well done setup on them. Not ALL of them are a waste of time.

Tune up? I think he means his Change Engine light is on. your car should run low 8's in the 1/8 mile - and even most import website regulars should know that, so exactly how does he think he has a chance??

 

He added a few stickers, different pulley. It is making like 8psi now instead of 7psi.

 

don't forget the whistle he added to his exhaust pipe.... that thing is like adding a turbo charger right? So it's now superturbovtec'd out.
