me vs 370 nismo

Am I the only one not surprised it was a close race? The 370Z and LS1 are very evenly matched in stock form.
The 370's weigh 300-400 lbs less than an F-body. The mid 2000's models have right around 300HP. They run 0-60 in high 4's or low 5's. 1/4 mile in low 13's.
The new 370's have 332HP, run 0-60 in 4.5 and the 1/4 mile in high 12's, that's average times. A new 370Z would tear up a stock LS1.
And yeah, as an owner of an A4 I know if you nail it anywhere between 40MPH and 50MPH you're going to be slow as *****, I'm actually surprised you caught up. If you had nailed it at 38MPH, the whole car would lift up, nose and everything.

My 2000 A4 WS6 went 13.047@107 bone stock my senior year in high school. I had two other friends that had f-bodys also. one had a 99 A4 WS6 and the other had an 02 A4 Z28 and we all ran low 13's stock. and mid 12's modded. The Z28 was noticeably faster stock in top end due to the LS6 intake and he usually trapped 108.
*I thought my best time was 13.047@107 but I just found a video on my facebook from 08 that showed a 13.09@107.50 run stock*

I will be going to the drag strip in September, I have the LS6 intake, and two minor bolt on mod's, I don't think I will be running anywhere close to that, but I do pray for that, that's an amazing time for a stock LS1.
I will be happy with anything under 14, will be very happy if I can hit 13.5 or less.

Don't matter why do you go by what other people run.. just cause sonone else runs a high 12 don't mean you will. Who know what were the condition to hit a perfect time . All I know is I owned one on the street. Get over it. I didn't run him from a dig I ran him from a roll. So let me ask you. You think a 370 z will keep up with a c5 from a roll?

Deleted it because was going to avoid this little bickering contest, but I've got a fresh beer now and it's game on.
F-body's, on average, are mid 13 second car when stock. Average trap is ~105. These numbers are supported by the members on this board (drag section). Really, check it out for yourself and wake up from dreamland.
You would have one believe they consistently run high 12's, low 13's, stock. This is utter BS and is not supported by factual info.
Stock vs stock, a 370Z is a driver's race for a F-body.

Of course some LS1 drivers will hit low 13's or high 12's, this is rare.
And then some 370Z drivers will hit low 13's or high 12's, also rare. They are pretty evenly matched cars.

Thank you, that's exactly what all of my posts have been saying. F-bodies will average mid to high 13's with an average driver, the 370Z will average mid 13's.

you guys have it all wrong Ive been reading these forums and LS1.com since 07 and Ive seen countless number of f-bodys run low 13s stock, not just that I ran with a crowd of 15-20 LS1 F-Bodys back in high school and there were ALOT of guys who went low 13s stock down to the filter. Saying a low 13 for an F-Body is rare is not true at all. Theres no way you can convince me an F-Body is a high 13 second car my girlfriends 350z went 13.7@102 with test pipes and an intake and my WS6 would walk that car with a 3 car head start.

Yes actually I have posted alot of threads there. back in 07-09 I lived at the 1/4 literally there every wednesday, friday and sunday running. Ive been in the f-body crowd for a while now and still am thats why im on here. I have owned two and in stock form if driven right will be low 13 second cars. Keep in mind not every person that owns a LS1 posts on ls1tech. The only chance a 370 has is from a dig, from a roll the LS1 will win. Especially if its a M6 LS1. A stock SRT8 is a high 12 to low 13 second car and basically you are saying a 370z would have ran neck and neck with me when I was stock and I know thats not going to happen.

Guess what though, 370Z's have done that as well (even dipping into the very high 12's). It doesn't matter what you believe. Only a fool would try to turn facts into a subjective debate.

If you spent as much time as you claim in that section, you would know the average 1/4 time is mid 13's. Have some gone faster? Of course, but some have gone alot slower as well.

from a dig or a low roll, a stall on an otherwise stock a4 fbody owns m6 guys even with full boltons.
i am not entirely sure i would expect to destroy a 370z from a highway roll in a stock ls1 a4 though. maybe gain ground back and pull a little, but no crazy bus lengths. i ran a newer bolt on 350z from a highway roll (dead spot at about 75mph I think) when I just had a catback and lid and it took longer than I thought it should. as I was killing it, I had to watch him make sour faces and even pound the steering wheel. Took a while, but eventually put 2-3 cars on by 110-115.
