1996 C4 LT4 is a sleeper car. Looks like any other 6 speed C4 till you pop the hood. I have a seen a couple stock touch the 12s here on the east coast back in the day.
Any 96 Vette with a stick shift got the LT4.

I love how the camaro was "1/2 a second slower 0-60" and supposedly 40 less hp. When in the vid the camaro spun way worse than the vette and was nose to nose with the vette.

I think the vette just pulls a bit harder up top than the f body. 1/4 going to depend on the driver.. stock vs stock

One day in the not-too-distant future (as I've said way too many times ) I will own an Admiral Blue LT4 Corvette. To be honest, I would take one of those over a regular C5.

If I am ever going to own a Corvette it will either be the 1969 Stingray Vette's, or the C6 Z06 or ZR1.

Over an FRC, yes. I like being able to take the top off. A C5 Z06 would be a bit more tempting, but there's still that top thing...

Well in an attempt to stay on topic (for a few sentences), anyone who is buying a 370z to drag race is wasting their money. Who cares if some random guy in a Z can pull a 12.9x@107 or 108 or whatever? The LS1 Camaro's were meant to be fast in a straight line so why do people even bother comparing two cars that are built for total opposite reasons? Even so, it's still impressive that technology has permitted a car with a 2.0L disadvantage with an NA v6 have identical or similar acceleration....

Now in an off-topic note, I wouldn't mind owning a C4 ZR1, C5Z06, or C6Z06 either!!

Unless it was a Grand Sport, then it was obvious.

It had raised runners to accomidate the ports of the LT4 heads. That intake manifold flowed slightly better than an LT1. The LT4 also got larger injectors.

I think the bump in compression came from the valve relief in the pistons being more shallow than what it was on the LT1.
The LT4 in the F-body was Balanced & Blueprinted exclusively by SLP. Most people don't know this.

That, along with the freer flowing intake & exhaust, made it a tad faster than the LT4-powered Corvettes on average.

I wonder how many LT4 Corvette were made in Admiral Blue, without being Grand Sports?
