Dunlop Direzza Star Spec's. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....t+Z1+Star+Spec
Only issue I've seen is sizing: they don't have alot of choices. For sizing, as they are intended for "Spec" racing series, there true size is around "20mm" wider than listed. My 265/40/17 are wider then most 275's, and even wider then some 295's.
Only video I have of dig racing is when I was heads/cam playing with a friend with a FULL bolton LS1 SS running 555R tires. His tires were brand new, mine had around 15,000 miles on them. At :35 we do a 3 honk even launch were I really let him have it.

My 265's measure 10.7" of tread width. Not counting sidewall. Had to roll my fender lips, run zero drop drag springs w/ airbags to keep from rubbing. Of course I wish I could go wider myself, but my setup already looks funny with the tires so much wider then my 8" rims.

I'm really thinking about just saying the hell with it and getting some MT's. I just don't want to get them, drive them regularly, and then have to replace them in 4 months. I don't do burnouts and rarely go to the track. I want some tires that I can launch on hard off the line on the street but last a decent bit.

i've seen those tires perform almost as well as some of the lower end (nitto, some bfg) drag radials. i will most likely get a set after these bfg kdws wear out that are on the ta now.
and i feel you on the dig racing thing. i can't dig on the street for **** with those tires on the ta. the track isn't too bad, but the street offers NO mercy for me. i guess an m6 car on sportlines shouldn't be digging anyhow. funny thing is, the car will NOT turn a tire from a roll, any speed, any gear. 1st gear roll 5 mph - nope. it traps good, so i know it's not a lack of power.
i had a set of m/t et street DRs (255/50/16) on stock snowflakes and i swear my bolton a4 car would go high 1.6-low 1.7 on the street. it hardly launched better at the track. great tire for such a narrow wheel and did work on anything i could find around here. it went low low 1.6 at the track, still spinning. i did managed to bend the factory tq arm, though.

I tryed to get star specs for my TA stock 17 inch rims and the local shop said they didn't have a size that fit.Checked TireRack online while at the shop also.Any help?Really wanted to put these on my car.Ended up getting the Raptors lol ,was in a rush and had a cut in my tire!If I race from a dig I launch at no more than 2000 rpm,lil bit of spin and than its all good.Overall descent tire for cheap!

Don't go to the wheel and tire section on lstech and say that lol. They will lock it immediatly. I had a 315 sumitomo on my 9.5" rims and the centers wore down very quickly and I had to change them within 10k miles. Im not sure if the nitto 555r's are more narrow than the sumitomo's or not though...

300C owners thoughts: "I know this Mach 1 will take me from a roll, but I know how to launch and I'm betting he doesn't so I'll see how long it takes him to catch me".
~ few seconds later ~
"Yep I was right yet another muscle car owner that can't drive! Took him till 3rd gear to catch me!"

Actually with these POS (and I'm serious, they are hard as a rock) Riken tires I HAVE kinda sorta got a launch out of them just dicking around at a redlight by myself. The key is slipping the clutch around 2,000rpms to have a slight bog, floor it, short shift 1st but slow so you don't hit the tires hard, then roll into 2nd. That is all I can do with them, but that was the last thing in my mind when it was actually go time with this 300.
