we have a guy like that in our town as well, he has a 99 cobra, he has alot of mods and always talks ****, one day he asked me what my car made hp wise,i told him and then he started making fun of me,he said his car had 950 to the rear, i said woooooow, then i asked if he wanted to run , he said it wasnt even worth his time, i just said yeah i would be a lil butt hurt if my 20 grand shop built car lost to a car that was put together in a driveway.one day i saw him on the highway,i was just about to reach the redlight, would have been a great place to run , 2 lane just me and him on green,as soon as he looked back and seen i was coming up next to him,he pops on the blinker and turns lol.

that guy should choke himself to death. you had to let him roll out a bit so you wouldn't put ten busses on him. two-three second shifts? i mean you could have idled it and killed him.

there's a lot to be said for a well setup, hard hooking car built in a driveway. its not rocket science, but with the way there are so many dyno queens out there it just might be.

Ran into a fifth gen SS camaro on the highway.Tryed to run him he kept falling back.I slowed down and when he caught up he said"I'm not used to these paddle shifters yet!".My first response"you got paddle shifters on that thing!"with a look of disgust!Than I tried to be nice told him he would get used to it and laughed my *** off as I drove off!Paddle shifters do not belong on a camaro!

Funny thread, cuz around here every time I see a 5.0 it's always a posser with no *****! I still have yet to one run one and there is not gonna be no ricer fly by here! I am not taking away from the fact that they are bad cars but they have just as many douch owners as we do! I did meet a pretty cool guy at the track last month with a 5.0 running drag radials, full exhaust, cold air and tune... Was running 12.30s

The ZL1 should be a beast. But of course it is a stock motor.

My cars not even close... no tune, no tires, stock air tube with home made intake and all season tires! So my only real mod is headers, I was running 13.0s @112 and 2.1 60fts. So my car is not comapable to his, he had a ported Tb too. It was 90 degrees and humid out also... I am going back this sunday, the weather is going to be nicer (75 dergees) and track should have good prep. I should have 12s, I just need practice launching!

But yes I have even met a few 5.0 owners that was dicks. They didn't knwo I had one. They was trying to tell me they ran XXX and I laughed. Guy actually todl me he ran 11's bone stock. I laughed and was like really. He then actually lined up next to me. He ran a 13.2 and I ran a 11.8. This was last time at the track. He said it was cause it was 90*. I just laughed harder. Showed him a video. Which is what most consider the fastest stock 5.0. 12.1@114..I was on SLicks. He said yep that is me.


Then it showed me and my friends. HAHA...We all laughed at him.

Where are you running at?

He should have still ran 11's even in that weather. I ran 11.80 with 90* weather humid and DA of almost 3000.

Chicago... elevation was 3000ft that day, I have not made it to the track with good weather yet so sunday will be ok! I ran a SRT challanger that day, he said his best runs were 12.80s and I beat him with a 13.0 to his 13.3... no one was running fast that day. I hope I can pull at least 12.80s with some practice, but I am saving for a cam and tires... then its time to play

I know about bad air. Last two times at track DA was 3000+. Best it got was 2700. Time before that car was only tune cold air and gears. Went 11.88..DA was 200.

I will not run again till I get back from Iraq. But then my car will be all new again. I will be looking to beat the fastest N/A 5.0 out. Which is only 10.7 right now. We will see.

I already have the cams and everything for my car. Just waiting on few small parts to start the full build.
