Ya the HP Freaks M3's are crazy. There is a grey one that i see once in a while were i live that i wont bother, lol. Its amazing that the only other thing they upgrade on the manual trannies are the clutch i think the motor internals are all stock. With as high as it revs and excellent gearing its really a great set up for a turbo.

I forgot they bumped the new GTR up in HP. It kind of reminds me of the new v8 E92 M3's. They lack TQ down low but they pull nice on top end. I like cars that put you back in the seat when you get on it. The GTR does it but in its own kind of way its hard to explain. I was actually more thrilled when I test drove the 5.0 when it came to the seat of the pants dyno.

Some of it might just be the way the GT-R shifts and the fact its AWD.

I know what you mean. That is the one thing I miss about the G8. It had way more TQ then the 5.0. The 5.0 is faster cause of its weight/gearing etc. It still plants you back but not as violent as the G8 did specially when sprayed.

It is still in Killeen. SOme one bought it with everything on it. Minus the Nitrous. It woudl be faster but it has a nitrous tune in it. Guy probably has no clue he lost about 17whp/23wtq with that tune in it. He was just at my wifes dealer getting some work done. He was telling them how fast it was up front. My wife walked in and said hey that is Brad's old G8. Guy still had my old GRRRR8.NET forum stickers on it and everything. HAHA.

Been there twice. I actually test drove a white GTR today, I guess the internet hype around that car had my hopes up but it let me down when I actually got behind the wheel. It lacks TQ and you really don't get the wow factor until you start to approach 110+. Also for the asking price of a used GTR I can find much better cars in my opinion. My father was with me looking at an M5 and he said he wouldn't look twice at a GTR if it passed him on the road. I may keep looking or a may mod this car who knows
What is much better for the same price as a used GT-R?
So high 11s in the low, low 120s? 0-60 in the 2.9 range.

You must have been in the wrong gear. It's a high-teen, low-12sec car any day of the year with very aggressive gearing. It's lack of torque isn't nearly as bad as the dead spots in the 6.1s 2nd and 3rd gear. 0-60 in the low 3s.

and cars in my opinion that are better then the GTR in that price range are C6Z, C63 AMG, E63 AMG, M5 and CTSV but thats just me. The SRT8 is starting to boar me under normal driving so Im starting to look around at my options. Maybe even the 6-Speed 392 Challenger but not for what they are going for right now.

Well I didn't touch any off the management controls so Im not sure if that mattered and I didn't go all out from a dig because it is a test drive and I didn't want to break anything lol. It was like driving a turbo 350z in a way

I grew tired of the sheer size of the Charger myself, although it was a great car to drive daily except for the mileage.

oh and just for ***** and giggles...The GTR has a advantage over the Z and GT500 with it being AWD and them on street tires but they didn't launch any of them hard.
