Default Charger SRT8 vs E46 M3

So I was cruising today enjoying the 105* weather in CA with my dad while he's in town visiting, we were on our way to look at a E60 M5 for him when I notice a red M3 coming up fast behind me. Surprisingly I didn't really pay him any attention until he gets onside of me and takes off. Then the M3 slows down and gets behind me again this time he flashes his lights so I step on it and start pulling away from him for a second and then I let off and this guy comes flying past me, gets in front of me and hits his hazards. My dads like why did he hit his hazard lights I told him in the car world thats basically like someone flipping you the middle finger lol. There was no way I was going to let this guy get away with hitting the hazards like that so traffic clears up and hes still about 1.5 cars ahead of me. He sees that Im tailing him and he downshifts and steps on it and I follow. I started running him down pretty fast, by 120 I pulled even and at 130+ it was a clean walk and I hit the hazards to return the favor and started to slow down as I felt like I had already proven my point. He jumps off on the next exit with defeat My dad has always owned BMW's so he is a Bimmer fan and his reaction was damn I didnt think you would run that M3 down that fast.

Cliff notes: SRT8 pulls 2 cars on a E46 M3 that got a 1.5 car head start.
SRT8 Mods: Intake, Catback, Tune

Exactly, imagine what it would have been like had you been in a LS1...you know, a performance car.

This is my first big car and it moves for it's size. My only complaint is that it gets boring to drive when just cruising, my AMG has paddle shifters and they are just kind of meh alright but not really fun. My WS6 was a 6-Speed and it was a blast to drive

Been there twice. I actually test drove a white GTR today, I guess the internet hype around that car had my hopes up but it let me down when I actually got behind the wheel. It lacks TQ and you really don't get the wow factor until you start to approach 110+. Also for the asking price of a used GTR I can find much better cars in my opinion. My father was with me looking at an M5 and he said he wouldn't look twice at a GTR if it passed him on the road. I may keep looking or a may mod this car who knows

There is a new GTR by my house with a HUGE A** wing on there and super loud. It sounds nice when modded but the wing he has on there just killed the looks of the car. Ive heard the new models with 530hp are impressive but who knows.

No doubt it moves for its size. I was very surprised to look up curb weight on the wagon at what 4200lbs? Thats literally 1000lbs heavier than my car right now. Your car would be a beast at 3200-3400lbs
You have some nice rides there.
I myself like to drive by the casino around my area so I can look for a AMG to kill at a stop light lol. I love beating up on high dollar cars with my 10 year old 4gen

I could only imagine what this car would run like at 3400lbs. Even with all the weight reduction you could possibly do to this car I still dont think it would ever see 3400lbs on a scale its just to big. With your mods and that stall you shouldn't have any problem with an AMG car from a dig but as the speeds increase it may be a different story.

Nice kill!

With just looking at spec's there is differences in the 2012 GT-R older GT-R's. HP/tranny's. This could have been why you wasn't thrilled to drive the one you did. 485hp vs 530hp.

I do have to admit everytime i see a 01-06 E46 M3 i do miss mine. For an Inline 6 they were fast cars and with bolt ons i was able to get mine to 310 rwhp, the torque was another story lol 249 rwtq. The gearing on those cars are excellent on the highway, handle really well tight corners and great braking. So i cant really put the car down at all but the SRT even though its heavier just has more power and with the intake, exhaust and tune just has the power advantage.

Termi ran mid-high 10's at the track same night at the track.
