CRAGER is the only person I wanted to race before getting rid of the car, but it didn't workout. I think it would have been a gooood race with me being victorious due to superior driving skillzzzz!

I know the white ones are rare, even more reason to get one and for once Bronco you are wrong, I wouldn't put a Ford motor in the vette now that Chevy has made something respectable!

eh, if you're gonna get a z06, might as well wait a year for the c6 version. last rumor i heard was it may come with your 427ci target right off the assembly line.

Yeah, but it won't look as good as a 2001 white Z-06.

For those of you considering racing high HP Supras, go to www.t04r.com . There you will find a number of 900+ HP Supras... most capable of running 9s... and a couple of 800+ HP Supras which run 9's as well. Should give you an idea of what you will need. See Ryan Woon's Supra post there...he ran a 9.74 last year, and I think he's even lower now w/ a better setup. He has some formidable 60' times. If you ever do race, have fun. Either way, if you're making that kind of power, you're better than 99.999% of anything on the road.

but those are mostly dedicated drag cars. your average high hp street supra will usually never get below 12's and will get beaten from a dig by mid to high 12 sec cars on the street

I guess it would depend on what "average high horsepower" means to you. To me, it means about 600 HP.... which would mean it has aftermarket turbo(s), and other supporting modifications. Any of those will easily run 11s and some would run 10s. The Supras we have around here are anywhere from 578 HP and up. My Supra is the slowest one in town, probably the only one w/ stock turbos/injectors, and it ran 12.6 @ 117 BEFORE I upgraded it with an Air Flow Converter (26 add't'l HP) and an aftermarket intercooler (about 40 add't'l HP). Anyway, I guess the best thing about these cars (and you can check that t04r.com forum on this) is that they can make a tremendous amount of HP on stock internals.

... and I'm sure you're right about getting beaten from a dig -- those cars are not made for great low-end torque (unless they have a power adder like nitrous) -- you can see that in their dynos. But then again, how many races do you know end after 200 feet?

Actually, one of the more impressive "street" car runs I've seen was the LPE (I think Stage II) Turbo Vette that ran a 9.27 a few years back. The thing looked like a rocket ship taking off from the line.. nice and smooth, too...and you should've heard the crowd oohing and aahing. I wished I had that video....

i'll agree with you on the bulletproof bottom end and 600hp is what i consider average high horsepower in a supra but like i said most will not get below 12's can you honestly tell me that your 12.6 supra has not been beaten by a 13 sec car before on the street i have seen a supra that runs 11.70's get taken out by a fox body that ran like 12.80's on the street.

I can honestly tell you that I have not been beaten by a 13 second car, because I have never raced my car (that 12.6 timeslip was from the previous owner, who just happens to outweigh me by 80+ pounds!). But as I've stated in my earlier post, I'm sure that happens... just not for long as the Supra has a rather solid power band (up to 6600+ rpm on stock turbos) and a good top end. Thus, their high trap speeds for such lousy 60 foot times.

Your term "get taken out" is relative to what distance the car was "taken out" from. Again, I have no doubt that a car which usually cuts a 1.6-1.8 60' time will "take out" a car such as mine (with my lousy driving and all, cutting 2.1 and 2.2 60' times). So over the first couple hundred feet, yes, a 13-second car will outgun my 12-second car. After a 1/4 mile, or even after an 1/8th, no...
